TravelingTed: Whitewater Kayaking in Yorkville, Illinois

“Andre was INCREDIBLE. He helped us in a tight crisis after being left without a ride from another company and needing a car seat. We were an 1.5 hr drive outside of Chicago on EASTER and Andre made the sacrifice to come get us and make sure we were taken care of safely and on time. I can’t recommend this company enough! He had us laughing the whole car ride back and had a car seat to accommodate for our 2 month old. He was truly a joy and made our trip that much more enjoyable.”

Enjoy An Edible Experience At Kennedy Pointe Restaurant & Pub

“GREAT LITTLE RESTAURANT!!!! We met the owner for the restaurant Jay Demarco for a walk through for my brothers baby shower in March. Very homey yet upscale decor. It has a banquet section that fits about 70 people. The other section reminds me more of a sports bar with big TVs, full bar and games. We ordered some drinks, they don’t skimp on the alcohol! I ordered the steak bites and my mother had the prime rib both were AMAZING at medium rare and HUGE portion sizes. Overall great ambiance, food, service and I’ll be happy to return in March for the baby shower. Also, this restaurant has outdoor seating and a VERY pretty scenery for baby showers, receptions, bar mitzvahs, graduation dinners etc. He also has a VERY affordable catering menu under $15 pp”

Experience Farnsworth House Visitor Center

“My friend Angie and I loved our visit to Farnsworth. Luckily, we came when the house is decorated as Edith had it, with her furniture, with midcentury modern table settings, etc. The interior was just as photogenic as the exterior.Fall is a lovely time to visit. Even on a grey, overcast day the autumn leaves lit up the frames of my photos. If you come for the house tour in chilly weather you’ll definitely want to bundle up, because there is a lot of time spent outside the house listening to the guide before he/she takes you in. Be sure to wear/bring socks, as you need to remove your shoes before entering the house. I also recommend watching the introductory video about Edith, her life, and about the home’s construction before visiting. The house is quite far from Chicago but definitely worth the drive if you’re into architecture, design, or MCM.”

Experience The Flavors Of Burnt Barrel Social

“So I don’t leave a lot of reviews. I always just assume that restaurants should be good and unless they’re really bad I don’t leave a review. However, this California kid stumbled across this place while traveling to Illinois for the first time in ages and boy oh boy. It might be one of my favorite spots in my history of sampling foods from places I do not live. I had the Steak Sandwich and it might be my favorite sandwich, ever! Not like in the last few weeks but ever! I had the nachos as well which were also great. The staff was pleasant and cheerful, the establishment itself impeccably well kept. I just can’t recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and go out of your way to try this place.”
