Drink Really Good Beer
Playalinda Brewing Companys Brix Project is another excellent place to eat and drink, serving some of the best beer in Florida, in my opinion. Updating and stylizing a former lumberyard, the restaurant has a friendly and comfortable vibe, plus indoor and outdoor seating. Playalindas Irish Nachos are a great appetizer to share, and gourmet burgers are perfect as a main course. Ask your server about the daily ramen special and burger-of-the-week.
I sampled a flight of beer from Playalinda and was unfamiliar with the brand until this day. The Pleasure Chest IPA and Barn Light Saison were both original and quite tasty. I was impressed with the unique ingredients of their beer recipe creations, such as marshmallow, lavender, and Meyer lemons. If you arent a beer drinker, they also serve craft cocktails and wine.
Pro Tip: As always, when visiting Florida, stay hydrated and wear adequate sunscreen. A sun hat is advisable when outdoors.

We’re lucky to have access to so many coastal towns and getaways from Central Florida. One of the closest beach towns to us is Titusville. With its interesting history and ties to the space program at Cape Canaveral, it is ideally situated for fantastic viewing of rocket launches. Heres how to spend a relaxing and fun day in this charming and waterfront historic town.
Stroll Space View Park
A beautiful addition to downtown Titusville is Space View Park, the only park in America dedicated to those who have pioneered and furthered the space program. The gorgeous park is across the Indian River from the launch pads of Canaveral Spaceport. Space View Park is worth a stroll through to learn more about historic NASA launches and astronauts via audio feeds and exhibits. A fun thing is putting your hands in the Mercury astronauts handprints cast in bronze there. Around the parks center is the Space Shuttle Memorial, with etched photographs of the crew that helped these missions complete their jobs.
Look for gators in the enclosed water beside the park. Ive seen one on every visit. This is also within walking distance to downtown Titusville, with quite a few cute shops and restaurants to check out. There are murals, statues, and street art to soak up, too.

“Manatee Observation Deck is located on the Haulover Canal on SR3 east of Titusville. It’s a great place to manatee watch or for other animal life. Lots of dolphins also. Plenty of places to pull up and fish, the fishing is sometimes incredible with large black drum, redfish and spotted sea trout. The canal connects the Indian River with the Mosquito Lagoon and there are boats of all sizes moving through the channel. If you don’t happen to see many manatees there you can go across the bridge to Bairs Cove Boat ramp. There are always several manatees feeding in the area. It’s a Titusville thing. It’s the highest elevation in town, so if you want to get some exercise, you can walk from Parrish Park to Sand Point Park and back again. The best time, of course, is in time for the sunset.
