My daughter and I were staying opposite in The Southern Palms,this little gem was opposite,we went there a few times.Great food and drink Nick is an amazing host,nothing too much trouble,his wife cooks fantastic food,always too much as seems to be the Barbados way!Nick even provides water bottles for the customers to spray those pesky chickens that seem to run amok all over the island. Its a beautiful setting in a little chattel village,all the building are different painted in the style.Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic breakfast at Happy Days recently. We had set 1 menu & omelette with toast & coffee. From the quality & quantity of food to the very personable quality of service, we could not fault it. IT IS A MUST FOR ANYONE IN THE AREA! Unlike some other places in the area, they do not impose a service charge or pay levy on their bills, leaving it to the customer to decide. We are already planning our next visit!

The St Lawrence Gap, in Christchurch Parish, is the nightlife centre of Barbados, located on the more commercial southern coast of the island. The resorts on the south coast are spread out, some even fairly isolated, but the Gap itself is lined with dozens of shops, restaurants, bars, and clubs, and, correspondingly, several resorts are clustered there as well. This part of Barbados is more casual and inviting than the Platinum Coast, and the resorts are hardly behind high walls.

Sunday brunch offers a good spread of fruit, cooked breakfast, made to order omelettes, cereals, yoghurt, toast and pastries. But what took the experience to another level was the group of local gospel singers that sang while we ate. Their singing was passionate and stirring, varying from slow and thoughtful to upbeat and joyful. The views from the restaurant were also sublime: down to the azure sea with its backdrop of waving palm trees.

This peaceful enclave is a godsend if youre staying in St Lawrence Gap and with young children that want somewhere to run around thats not a beach. Sadly the reserve itself was largely closed when we visited but what is open to the public is great: a large sloping lawn that leads down to a lake. There are outside tables and chairs and an excellent café where you can buy food to feed the fish and birds.
