Visiting St. Augustine Distillery not only gives you the opportunity to taste locally made craft drinks such as rum, vodka, whiskey and gin, it also transports you into the past and history of the St. Augustine of former times. St. Augustine Distillery is located inside a meticulously renovated and reconstructed hundred-year-old ice factory. When 28 local dreamers decided to start making craft spirits, the factory provided a perfect location.
They also picked the brains of some of the worlds best distillers and made a deal with local farmers who grow sugar cane, corn, wheat, and citrus products. Then they started mashing, cooking, and distilling small quality batches of gin, vodka, rum, and whiskey. All tours are free, open to visitors over 21, and they give you the opportunity to learn how everything is made.

Fourth Of July Fireworks 2021
St. Augustine is known for its spectacular fireworks display on July 4, and this year will be no different. Preceded by a free live concert at 6 p.m. by the All-Star Orchestra in the Plaza de la Constitucion, the fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. over the Matanzas Bay, with the Castillo de San Marcos in the foreground. The 20-minute show will be choreographed to patriotic music.

St Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum
The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum acts as both an educational and scenic maritime museum in St. Augustine, Florida. The lighthouse overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the Matanzas Bay from Anastasia Island, standing at approximately 165 feet above sea level. Guests can climb 219 steps to reach the top and be rewarded with amazing views of the ocean and city. Castillo De San Marcos
Castillo de San Marcos is located on the western shore of Matanzas Bay and is one of the most popular St. Augustine attractions. The Spanish, who saw the need to fortify what was then a tiny garrison town, built the Castillo between 1672 and 1695. Today, Castillo de San Marcos is a National Monument situated on 20.5 acres of beautiful green spaces that make the park truly astounding. Alligator Farm Zoological Park
Florida is known for being home to lots of Alligators, thanks to its nature that the gators love. Heres a close-up photo of a large Alligator, which can be found in Floridas Alligator Farm Zoological Park in St. Augustine.
Even if youve never been to Florida, you probably know that alligators are all around here thanks to the warm, humid temperatures and low water table. If you happen to see an alligator hanging out in one of the many lakes around the state, you should never, ever approach them.
The safest way to see and hear about the native alligators and other wildlife in Florida is by going to the Alligator Farm Zoological Park. Here you can enjoy wildlife shows daily, including the Realm of the Alligator, where you can watch the trained staff feed the gators, conduct animal training demonstrations, and answer audience questions.
Not only do they have a representation of every living species of crocodile, but youll also get to meet Maximo the 153, 1,250lb saltwater crocodile! The park is also home to a variety of other animal demonstrations, including the Rainforest Review with a variety of brightly colored birds, and dont forget to catch the slowest moving animal in the world, the Sloth, at Sloths Landing!
The Ponce De Len Hotel

Ponce de León has already had quite an impact on St. Augustine, Florida.
It makes sense, then, that the Ponce de León Hotel is one of the citys many great places to go.
The location is undeniably luxurious, with exaggerated opulence that rests right in the middle of Flagler College.
The Ponce de León Hotel was built in 1888 by railroad tycoon and co-founder of Standard Oil Henry M. Flagler.
It was widely considered the richest and most regal hotel of its time and has an extra air of mystery thanks to many architectural details and secrets.
It is also intentionally built with minor flaws because Flagler wanted to avoid offending God by making the hotel too perfect!
Impressively, Flagler was friends with Thomas Edison, which meant that the Ponce de León Hotel actually had electricity from the very start!
Some bulb explosions due to the direct current used, though, forced Flagler to hire staff specifically for turning lights off or on.
When you enter the Ponce de León Hotel, you are immediately struck by its beauty.
Its courtyard has a huge fountain with carved turtles and frogs.
When viewed from above, youll see that the fountain is actually a sundial.
Passing through here, youll get to the rotunda, which is dazzling with its four elemental goddesses and four exploration stages demonstrated by female figures.
The ceiling is a work of art in itself in gold.
Chair arms are carved with cherubs and the windows are bulletproof.

Petrified Forest National Park
Arizona is home to one of the worlds largest tracts of largely undisturbed petrified wood.
The park also includes Native American archaeological sites, historic buildings, and prehistoric fossils many of which are hundreds of millions of years old.
The areas climate was much different back then than it is now, as youll see when you view the fossils on display.
Theres also a particularly fascinating remnant of a Native American communal home that contains nearly 100 rooms and is thought to be nearly 1,000 years old.
Park admission is relatively inexpensive considering all youll get to see.
Ponce De Leons Fountain Of Youth Archaeological Park

Ponce de Leons Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park is the supposed location that the titular Ponce de Leon, a famous Spanish explorer, landed in St. Augustine in the year 1513.
The site itself was opened by Luella Day McConnell, better known as Florida entrepreneur Diamond Lil, in 1904.
It spans 15 acres of citrus trees and expansive grounds.
You have likely heard of Ponce de Leon in the context of the Fountain of Youth.
Oddly, though, he wasnt associated with the quest for that elusive fountain until biographers wrote of that supposed link after his passing.
Ponce de Leon himself, though, didnt write about that alleged goal of his in his own journals.
As an enterprising woman, Diamond Lil a former doctor who found success in the gold rush purchased this land and decided to convert a well that existed on the property to a Fountain of Youth.
She then opened her park to the public, who would come from near and far to this little St. Augustine location.
She also began to uncover and display artifacts that she claimed were from Ponce de Leon, though some seemed suspiciously modern.
You cant be too sure about what to see here, but the collection of artifacts are certainly fascinating, and its nice to see what Diamond Lil managed to create here regardless of its genuine value.

Candlelight Tours At The Villa Zorayda Museum
Candlelight tours return this weekend to the Villa Zorayda Museum in downtown St. Augustine, completed in 1883 as the winter residence of Franklin Webster Smith. Smith built home using his method of construction, poured concrete and crushed coquina shell. Smith replicated architectural details of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, for his residence.

The museum is beautifully decorated for the holidays with a spectacular Christmas tree decorated in the colors of the Villa Zorayda red and gold located center stage in the Court of Lions. Tours, which take place Nov. 27 and Dec. 4, 10, 18, 20, 27, 28 and 30, include lighting of the tree presentation, punch and cookies. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Reservations are required.
