Cliff Palace And Balcony House
Sopotnicki / Shutterstock
Cliff Palace and Balcony House is gorgeous and lots of fun.
This is where the Puebloans lived centuries ago.
Checking it out is one of the best activities around, especially if youre interested in anthropology.
You must see Cliff Palace and Balcony House if you can.
Built within cliffs, these were very soundly made, allowing for many people to live at a time while keeping inhabitants safe from outside threats.
You need to be careful when checking out these sights, however.
A ranger is required to lead the tours, and you need to make sure youre following all of their instructions exactly.
Theres just too much at stake to afford being even remotely careless on these sites.
Cliff Palace and Balcony House is a truly stunning part of Colorado.
Cliff Palace Loop Road is open from 8 a.m. to nightfall.
Tour admission is $7 for all guests.
Address: Cliff Palace Loop, Mesa Verde National Park, CO 81330, United States

Best Restaurants In Pueblo

Pueblos cuisine scene has always been influenced by south of the border seasonings, especially the green chile. Farmers in and around town grow their own variety, sold at local farmers markets and prepared in Pueblos restaurants. Keep an eye out on the menu for the towns famous Pueblo Slopper, a hamburger smothered with plenty of green chile and topped with cheese and onions. Pueblos downtown dive, Grays Coors Tavern, has one of the best!
For a more refined, international take, consider either La Forchetta da Massi, known for its Northern Italian-inspired pastas and mains Mr. Tandoori Urban Bar and Grill serves up delicious curries, kormas, masala, and other Indian staples in a bright dining room. If the weather cooperates, you can also dine al fresco on a large patio.

Activities In Pueblo Colorado
Find out for yourself why this flavorful southwest city was named one of the nation’s four “most livable cities” by Partners for Livable Communities, a Washington D.C. non-profit organization.
Perhaps one of the state’s most faithful chronicles of life in this area is the Colorado Historical Society’s El Pueblo History Museum. Located on the actual site of the El Pueblo trading post built in 1842, the museum is now in the heart of downtown Pueblo. Take a stroll in the Union Avenue Historic District along a mile of painstakingly restored buildings. Shop the outdoor exhibits of southwestern art and pottery. Be sure to walk through the grand old Pueblo Union Depot with its mosaic tile flooring, polished wood wainscoting and stunning, stained glass windows.
History aside, the people of Pueblo spend the summer outdoors-as well as the fall, winter and spring! The mild climate of southern Colorado means bicycles and golf clubs stand at the ready year-round.
The 35-mile River Trail System is a paved ribbon that stretches from Colorado State University-Pueblo on the city’s northeastern fringe clear down to Lake Pueblo to the west, where surreal limestone cliffs rim the 60-mile shoreline of the reservoir. Bicyclists, in-line skaters, joggers and power-walkers populate this recreational roadway.
See The Lights Of Neon Alley
If you happen to be out and about on South Union Avenue after dark, make it a point to stop by one of the most colorful and interesting light displays east of Vegas. Neon Alley consists of more than 40 vintage neon signs, brightly lit every evening. The alley is part art installation, part blast from the past throwback, and a whole lot of fun. Locals and tourists alike flock here to bask in their light and snap the perfect selfie!

The Opportunity To Serve And Shape The Future And Sustainability Of Our City
I chose Pueblo as my home for two main reasons, first for the opportunity to serve and shape, along with other passionate leaders, the future and sustainability of our City. Second for its outdoor adventures. I enjoy running, walking, canoeing, snowboarding, and hiking. Pueblo provides my family the opportunity to live and play in a community that is large enough to offer various amenities like the Riverwalk. Its also geographically perfect to allow its residents the opportunity to enjoy nature due to its proximity to various hiking trails, ski resorts, the Pueblo Reservoir, and my absolute favorite Pueblos Nature Center running path.
