Located on Central Park West & 79th Street, the Museum of Natural History features incredible exhibitions about human cultures, nature, and the universe. Whether you are interested in dinosaurs or ecology, rare wildlife or Native Americans, this museum has something for everyone.
The museum is divided into seven sections, with each featuring one aspect of nature and the universe. The 15+ Best Indoor Activities In Nyc
Bad weather sucks, but that doesnt mean your trip to New York has to! Here are the best indoor activities in NYC, according to a local.
Waking up to blah weather your first day in a new city is the worst feeling. You spent so much time crafting the perfect itinerary and planned to see the city by foot, just like the locals do. But now it looks like itll start raining at any minute, and it turns out you planned for everything but the possibility of bad weather. Been there, done that!
I used to get so upset whenever the weather turned sour on vacation. Id feel like we had lost a day to bad weather, and Id get bent out of shape about our trip not being as perfect as I wanted it to be. I wont lie and say Ive learned to fully embrace unexpected bouts of rain on vacation, but after almost five years of solo travel I have learned to love cozying up indoors and taking things a bit slower.
If Im traveling during the spring or fall, instead of planning a strict itinerary Ill list a lot of activities Im interested in doing and group them together based on how close they are to each other and whether theyre indoors or outdoors. That way, when I wake up to pouring rain outside my window, I have a few backup plans for things to do when the weather is less than ideal.

If youre not willing to risk SoHo in the rain, just camp out at the Macys flagship store. Its absolutely ginormous and Ive actually gotten lost in it before . There are plenty of restaurants around Macys, so you wont need to go far for a snack halfway through your window shopping. Word to the wise: the higher up you go in the store, the fewer people there are.

Test Your Strength At An Indoor Rock Climbing Spot

However, living in New York where people spend most of their free time seeking fit lifestyles, I should squeeze one or two physical activities into my life so that I wont regret it when I get older. This how I came across indoor rock climbing and became obsessed with it.
You can find this growing sport at the top climbing gyms in New York at the price of $10-$15 per session. Some of the popular ones that worth your visit are:

What to do in new york when it rains? When its raining in NYC, make sure to stay inside as much as possible. Protect yourself from the rainy weather by taking a tour through the Grand Central Terminal. I highly recommend booking an official self-guided tour with headsets to explore every corner of Grand Central.
