Smorgasburg Returns To Nyc With New Vendors This Weekend

The return of Smorgasburg is upon us!
Now in its twelfth year, the annual, weekly outdoor food festival will return to several New York City locations, and beyond, as of this Friday, April 1. More than a dozen new vendors are slated to join the lineup of 60+ returning food artisans.

This year’s Smorgasburg schedule will be as follows: World Trade Center will host 20 vendors on Fridays from 11am-7pm. Jersey City and the Smorgasbar Beer Garden will have 40 vendors on Saturdays from 11am-6pm. On Sundays, Prospect Park will boast 50 vendors plus a full bar, spanning more than 60,000 square feet of lawns and open space from 11am-6pm. The Williamsburg market at Marsha P Johnson State Park will be open on Saturdays, 11 am-6pm, starting this June, when construction will be completed in the waterfront area. Over 70 vendors are expected to participate!

A new community partnership with local artists, graphic designers and illustrators that Smorgasburg kicked off this winter will continue. Though many of the free musical and theatrical performances for kids take place outdoors in the warmer months, you can find some that take place year-round.
You can also find theatrical for kids that is very inexpensive such as the Theater for Children with tickets approximately $6.
If you can spend a bit more, check out the New Victory Theater in Times Square with quality productions just for kids year-round.

It is great for the hot and sticky days in July, as you will always find some shade to rest a little. Many New Yorkers use the green field to lounge, relax, and escape the big-city bustle for a while.

The Highline In Chelsea
From Hudson Yards, make your way to the Chelsea Highline. This iconic railway turned greenway is one of my all-time favorite places to visit, especially on a nice sunny day!
On either side find murals, greenery, and views of NYC through the Chelsea neighborhood ! The Highline is 1.45 miles and ends at Gansevoort St.
FYI: If the weather is nice, be prepared for lots of other visitors unless you go early in the morning. There are also a lot of cute photo spots on the Highline you can take advantage of.
Insider tip: If youre feeling hungry, you can walk the Highline all the way down to Chelsea Market where you can eat and explore like a local!
