11 Things To Do in North Hollywood / The Valley in 2020
Hollywood and West Hollywood aren’t the only must-see places to visit when you’re on vacation in Los Angeles. Take a road trip up to North Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley and experience these vibrant hidden gems. People in California and around the United States come to visit the kitschy bars, great hang out spots, and activities.
I’ve lived in North Hollywood for over 4 years and this somewhat gritty and slightly gentrified area has so much to offer. Even though I like to call it “NoHo – Up To No Good,” you’ll fall for its’ charm.
Let me show you around my neighborhood!
1. Get up, close, and personal with iconic Hollywood Sign by visiting Lake Hollywood. You can also hike up the mountain on one of the several hikes that range from 3-miles to a 11 miles roundtrip.
Did you know that the sign read “Hollywoodland” from 1923 to 1949?
2. Go behind-the-scenes of current and classic Hollywood sets on any of the Hollywood Studio Tours. You can re-create a famous scene from the hit television show Friends at Warner Brothers Studio, have a blast at the attractions like Fast & The Furious: Supercharged at Universal Studios, and even see some behind-the-scenes areas that bring the history of Walt Disney to life with the Adventures By Disney: Disney Backstage tour.

The Ultimate Tour Of The Noho Arts District
If youre looking for a one-stop-shop destination for eats, drinks, and nurturing the creative spirit, look no further than the NoHo Arts District. As a designated neighborhood within North Hollywood, it is considered a uniquely walkable cultural hub within the San Fernando Valley.
At about 1.5 square miles, the districts general markers run from Chandler Avenue to the north, Cahuenga Boulevard to the east, Tujunga Avenue to the west, and Camarillo Street to the south. The major cross streets are Lankershim and Magnolia Boulevards, which in the last two decades have emerged as the intersection of an ever-evolving vibrant urban community filled with small theaters, arts-related activities and classes, restaurants and bars, apartments, and mixed-use buildings.
And while the community does have a hip, Millennial, bohemian vibe, its a place for all ages as evidenced by a unique senior living community, the Noho Senior Arts Colony, which houses the state-of-the-art second location for the award-winning The Road Theatre Company.
