Island Beach State Park

Island Beach has the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Barnegat Bay on the other. Its one of the quietest, most peaceful places in New Jersey. If you arrive in the early morning, you will find long stretches of shoreline that you can have all to yourself.

The park is divided into thirds. There are preserved natural areas, with trails and kayak and fishing access. There is also a recreational area and then the swimming beach. The swimming beach has lifeguards, two bathhouse pavilions, and concession stands.

On the Barnegat Bay side, there is a water entrance where hundreds of boats anchor in the shallow water during high season. Its one giant floating party.
