The Currier Museum hosts over 11,000 pieces of art and the collection is as varied as it is vast. Special attention is granted to local artists and particularly attendees of the White Mountain School of Art. Alongside the many sculptures, paintings and photographs, the museum also displays many examples of fine New Hampshire antiques. The Zimmerman home is also part of the Museum. It is the only house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in New England that is open to the public.

The Whales Tale Water Park boasts an impressive selection of water rides set in the White Mountains. The park offers plenty of slides and flumes for thrill seekers along with a kids activity area. The park also offers free parking and pizza or burgers for when hunger strikes. A top tip is to visit the water park on a cloudy or overcast day as when the sun is shining the park tends to get very busy.

Take A Scenic Drive On The Kancamagus Highway
The Kancamagus Highway, a 34-mile scenic drive in Northern NH, is an amazing USA road trip experience.
Officially designated an American Scenic Byway, this winding road cuts straight through the White Mountain National Forest and takes you over 2800-feet in elevation. Not only is it well worth the 23-hour drive, but youll have immediate access to the endless natural treasures of the White Mountains.

Fuller Gardens are North Hampton’s premiere botanical garden facility, originally commissioned in the 1920s by Massachusetts Governor Alvan T. Fuller and designed by the firm of legendary landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. The lovely gardens, which are housed on Fuller’s former summer estate property, are known for their gorgeous Colonial Revival-style rose gardens, which showcase more than 1,700 rose bushes in over 125 varieties. Roses typically bloom between June and October, with grounds open to the public starting in mid-May each year. Other gardens showcased on site include a Japanese-style garden, a dahlia display garden, and English perennial plantings. Indulge Your Sweet Tooth At Kellerhaus
Where: 259 Endicott Street N, Laconia
What: The oldest candy shop in New Hampshire, Kellerhaus has been making candy since 1906. In the 1920’s, it began serving homemade ice cream, and today, it still turns out some incredibly delicious truffles, fudge, filled chocolates and maple products, as well as that delectable frozen dessert.
Highlights: If you have a serious sweet tooth, indulge it by taking advantage of the make-your-own sundae ice cream buffet, piling on any and all of the mouth-watering toppings for a unique customised treat, and be sure to pick up some ribbon candy while youre there. It makes an ideal souvenir to take back home, as this is one of the few spots left in the world that still makes it by hand. Kellerhaus also hosts a gift shop where you can stock up on all sorts of other goodies as well.
Market Square And Portsmouth’s Historic Houses
At the heart of the historic center of this seaport and shipbuilding town, Market Square has been the city’s busy hub since the days when New Hampshire’s Colonial Legislature met here. Overlooked by the impressively tall steeple of North Church, the square and the brick-paved streets that radiate from it are surrounded by venerable mercantile buildings that now house shops, cafés, and restaurants.
As it winds its way along the waterfront, through Market Square and into streets of sedate old homes, the Portsmouth Harbor Trail connects more than 70 of the city’s historical sites and scenic attractions. Among these are 10 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, 10 National Historic Landmarks, and a number of historic homes that are open to visitors.
Each of these has unique features, history, and collections. Warner House, built in 1716, has the oldest Colonial wall paintings still in place and the first example of Queen Anne furniture known in America.
The 1758 John Paul Jones House, where Captain John Paul Jones lived while in Portsmouth, exhibits collections of china, silver, glass, portraits, and clothing.
Moffatt-Ladd House, built in 1763, still contains original furniture and is surrounded by beautiful gardens.
The 1785 Governor John Langdon House interior features ornate woodwork and period furnishings, and the Rundlet-May House, built in 1807, features furniture made by local craftsmen.

What: NASCAR is one of the top sports in the U.S. and the New Hampshire International Speedway hosts the two largest spectator sporting events in New England. Held only twice each year, if you happen to visit during either the ISM Connect 300 or the Overtons 301 , be sure to make time on your itinerary to experience it.
Highlights: Even if you dont care much, if anything, about NASCAR racing, the overall excitement is bound to catch on.
