Climb The Top Of The Rock

I LIVED IN NEW YORK FOR A WEEK

And while you’re there, how can you not go up to one of the most popular observatories in the city? Don’t miss the New York skyline and the views from the Top of the Rock, at the top of Rockefeller Center including night views…. I leave here the details for you to organize your climb: NYC Top of the Rock Tickets and for you to decide if you want to climb the Top of the Rock or the Empire State Building. Of course, keep in mind that at Rockefeller Center you will find plenty of places to eat, so it can be a recommended visit even if you do not climb to the viewpoint.

Attend The New York Film Festival

In 2022, the prestigious New York Film Festival takes place September 28th – October 14th.

To find out which films are playing and to purchase tickets click here. They are shown in beautiful Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center.

While tickets are $25 and up, the higher price is worth the experience of being in this special venue!

TIP: Lincoln Center offers a tour of several of its most famous performance spaces. Find out more here.

Rockefeller Center & Empire State Building

Its observatory deck time! Marvel at the NYC skyline at sunset atop one of New Yorks most famous buildings, either the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Center. We personally prefer the views from the Rockefeller Center because not only can you get the Empire State Building in your picture but you will also get a nice view over Central Park. However, no matter which building you choose youll surely be in for a treat. There may be a little bit of a wait, but no weekend in New York City is complete without some selfies on an observatory deck.

Recommendation: Avoid wasting precious vacation time waiting on long lines, and buy your skip-the-line tickets in advance. You can buy skip-the-line tickets for the Top of the Rock Observation Deck here and for the Empire State Building here.

/11 Memorial & Museum

Another lower Manhattan option to consider for your week in NYC is the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. This moving attraction recounts the events that led up to the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001, and the tragic aftermath. Youll get to explore galleries filled with photographs, artifacts, and even pieces of the destroyed World Trade Center at the Museum.

Then, see the poignant exterior Memorial with its signature water and light designs. This has become an emotional center for New Yorkers and is well worth your time to visit.

From Hudson Yards, make your way to the Chelsea Highline. This iconic railway turned greenway is one of my all-time favorite places to visit, especially on a nice sunny day!

On either side find murals, greenery, and views of NYC through the Chelsea neighborhood ! The Highline is 1.45 miles and ends at Gansevoort St.

FYI: If the weather is nice, be prepared for lots of other visitors unless you go early in the morning. There are also a lot of cute photo spots on the Highline you can take advantage of.
