The southernmost point of South Beach offers up a more relaxed and quiet waterfront area compared to the hustle and bustle near Lummus Park on Ocean Drive.
What was once home to police horse stables, South Pointe Park was donated by the Federal Government to Miami Beach in 1979.

Theres even a playground which includes a water fountain and a dog park.
Take a walk on the 450-foot-long pier, which underwent a $4.8 million renovation in 2014.

Skateboarding And Splashing On A Budget
Tweens and teenagers now have more opportunities to do extreme sports in South Florida. The Homestead area has a highly regarded skate park at the county-run South Dade Park, 28151 SW 164th Ave. Both of the parks new attractions are drawing out-of-towners.
One reason is price: South Dade Park skateboarding fees are only about a third the cost of other skate facilities in Miami-Dade. Kids 12 and under pay $2 admission during the week and $3 on weekends. Helmets are required for the skate park but can be rented for $2 skateboard rentals are $3.
