Farmers Market is a common occurrence everywhere, whatever kind of city that might be. Downtown Memphis, therefore, also seems to have its own.

Memphis City Farmers Market is a weekly market, non-profit in nature, as it is handled by vendors and artisans all on their own.

It is one of the unique farmers markets, as the products and items sold here are producer-only and what more? The market doesnt allow any kind of resale products and items to be sold here.

It was first established in the year 2006 and has been providing fresh and locally produced food items since then.

The market has, over the years, grown considerably well and now, along with playing soft light music, is seen conducting weekly themed and fun events and programs.

Covering an area of 27 acres, the street is a major tourist attraction because of its many restaurants and blues clubs as well as its outdoor concerts and festivals.

Built in 1841, Beale Street became a venue for traveling musicians in the 1860s. Between the 1920s and 1940s, many legendary blues and jazz musicians performed on Beale Street. Score Some Tail At The Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival

Memphis attractions: Things to do in Memphis – Home of the Blues

Probably my favorite festival of the year, the Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival takes place annually on a Sunday in mid late April.

Its seen locally as the unofficial start to spring and 100% of proceeds benefit the Porter-Leath Foundation. Admission is free and events include cooking contests, crawfish-eating contests, bobbing for crawfish, three stages of live music, and getting as messy as humanly possible.

BTW, crawfish are these little creatures we eat here in the Southits like a teeny tiny lobster. We boil them in spices and eat their tail meat. Theyre spicy and delicious and not at all weird.)
