Actually, consistently THE best IPAs that I have tasted in my state.Hoping the brewery gets a more robust taproom soon and maybe a food option on site. The current taproom is a little small and makes you feel like you need to fill and go. Though that may be by design, I’d like to be able to hang out for a bit, enjoy a brew and not just a sample…and maybe some table top shuffle board?Hands down A+++ for the most consistently delicious, juicy NE style IPAs being offered today. Haven’t tasted one yet that I haven’t fallen in love with.”

Though youll find it in the neighboring state of New Hampshire, Bear Brook State Park is close enough to Lebanon to be on the radar of guests looking to experience the New England wilderness in all its glory.
Covering more than 10,000 acres, its the largest of its kind in the state, and with nearly 50 miles of trails, its not too difficult to see most of it.
The park features almost 100 campsites and includes mountains, bogs, rivers, and streams that are big hits with outdoorsmen and nature lovers of all stripes.

The Montshire is an award-winning hands-on science museum. You’ll experience over 140 exciting exhibits relating to the natural and physical sciences, ecology, and technology. As a 110-acre museum on the Connecticut River, there’s always plenty to explore, both indoors and out! Open daily 10-5. Summer Admission $16 for adults, $13 for children 2-17. Regular Admission: $14 for adults, $11 for children 2-17 Two day passes available. Free for members and children under 2 years of age. Water exhibits in outdoor Science Park are on mid-May through early October.

This was a special family adventure with three generations and ages from 5 to 72. Our 5-year old granddaughter was almost overwhelmed with the seemingly never ending items for her to do “hands on”. The “mystery” games, ant farm, etc., etc. are all done extremely well.And that was just inside the facility. Despite the rain / drizzle, we did enjoy some of the exterior items with the pendulum and piano being big attractions.The older members of the family seemed to enjoy the exhibits / challenges as much as the younger.Our only negative observation is that there may not be too much for kids over 10 or 12.

The park is open year-round, and though there arent any facilities to speak of, its full of incredible vistas and plenty of trail options that follow the river.

We had a great time here. My granddaughter enjoyed the water play pad, lazy river and small water slide. My husband and I enjoyed swimming laps in perfect temp water. The facility is very clean and the staff is very helpful. This a great facility to workout at.

Learn A Thing Or Two At Montshire Museum Of Science
“Stopped here after visiting Quechee Gorge nearby. This is an impressive musuem! I have been to a bunch with my kids, and we could have spent quite a bit of time here.Inside, there are exhibits and events, with tons of hands on activities. My kids went right for the Bubble exhibit. The exhibits appealed to both the kids and adults in our group, from aquarium tanks to contraptions, puzzles and instructions on how to solve a Rubik’s cube, to natural history and a live leaf cutter ant colony.The kids also had a blast creating a marble run in the “Tinkering Lab”, a classroom full of supplies to get your imagination and creativity flowing.There is a large gift shop, filled with all kinds of goodies from toys to science kits.I love that the museum extends outside. There are trails, a summer cafe under a tent, water features, and more. This was a great way to spend the day, and if we lived locally, I would definitely get a membership so that we could come back.”

Rachel Carson was one of the original heavyweights in the environmental awareness movement that swept the country decades ago.
Her book Silent Spring is still a classic after all these years, and theres no more fitting way to honor her legacy than by spending some time at the National Wildlife Refuge named after her.
The refuge is an important layover point for migrating waterfowl and wading birds, especially when more northern and inland freshwater lakes are frozen.
The refuges entrance is on Port Road in Wells, and it was established in 1966 to protect the vital coastal ecosystem and the animals that live there.
