Frequently Asked Questions And Answers

What are people saying about things to do near La Porte, IN 46350?

This is a review for things to do near La Porte, IN 46350:

“We really enjoyed our visit to Xscape Quest! We needed to keep 4 kids busy when the weather messed up our beach day plans. The kids are 7, 9, and two 11-year olds along with 3 adults. Some of us have done a lot of escape rooms, some just 1, and some were new to escape rooms. The guy who explained everything was really nice and helpful. We really liked that the room was non-linear, meaning there were multiple clues in play at all times. It was challenging enough to keep all of us busy for 53 minutes and we got a couple hints when we got stuck. There were all different types of clues that kept all the kids engaged and interested. Afterwards they all said they loved it and can’t wait to do another one. I highly recommend it!”

    La Porte County Courthouse

La Porte has been the county seat since 1832, and the courthouse rising over the city today is the third on this site. In the Richardsonian Romanesque style, and composed of Lake Superior red sandstone, this grand monument was completed in 1894.

The stone was shipped to Michigan City and then transported to La Porte by rail. Some 130 years later, the tower, with its unusual loggia and pointed roof, is still a defining landmark for La Porte.

Some of the buildings outstanding details are its 270-piece skylight, 45+ gargoyles, gilded friezes and exquisite stained glass.
