Maui is a year round destination and the main city at Lahaina, always a popular favorite city to visit and hang out. The peak season to visiting Lahaina and Maui in general is typically the summer season and winter season when vacations are accessible from mainland visitors. But the actual best time to visit Lahaina would be during the shoulder season of the year generally from April through May and September through November when the temperatures are nice, weather is great and high season is over so rates are great and tourist crowds are smaller in size.

Whats The Best Time To Visit Lahaina

Lahaina is a tropical destination in every sense of the world, which means you can expect warm weather whenever you come. Still, it should be mentioned that the months of December and January see the most precipitation.

However, the best time to visit Lahaina is considered to be somewhere in spring or fall . The reason for this is that in summer and winter many people come here and the total population swells from about 10,000 to almost 40,000 people.

For surfing fans, the situation is slightly different because winter is undoubtedly the best time to visit Lahaina if this is the thing that interests you most.

Where To Stay On Maui

Things to do on MAUI, HAWAII even when it rains ð¤·â?âï¸? (travel vlog)

Obviously if you are on this itinerary, you already know the best area to stay on in Maui is easily Kaanapali Beach! This is where all the action is and where you will find the best snorkeling & stretch of beach.

There are many resorts along this stretch of beach, so I decided to split my time between two hotels to see which one I liked best!

1. Aston at the Whaler

The first one I stayed at was the Aston at the Whaler, which was amazing! It is a condo style hotel, so you will have a huge balcony, full kitchen, living area to relax in, and it is a very quiet property. The hotel was also in the best area of Kaanapali beach, located right in between Black Rock Snorkeling & Whalers Village .

The rush after COVID was WILD. You would have to make reservations 2 weeks out or you arent eating! It was really nice to have a full kitchen and dining area to eat breakfast / lunch at.

2. Hyatt Regency

For the second half of my stay, I stayed at the Hyatt Regency, which was BEAUTIFUL! Its a resort-style hotel, so you will have a large pool with waterslides, swim up bar, cabanas along the beach, and several restaurants on the property. Not to mention they also have penguins, flamingos, and swans on the property.. which for an animal lover, thats all I could ask for!

My Pick?

Overall, I think it will depend on what kind of experience youre looking for!

Want to relax on a lawn chair and keep the Pina Coladas coming? Hyatt is for you!

Puu Kekaa, known as Black Rock, is an ancient Hawaiian landmark dominating the North End of Kaanapali Beach. This site has deep roots in Hawaiian lore and Mauis mythology. It is a favourite spot for its gorgeous views, rock jumping and snorkelling.

Kaanapali Beach has 6.3 miles on West Mauis shore a popular resort area for travellers to Hawaii with many hotels and condos. Famous for its reputation for great snorkelling, swimming, scuba diving this beach is the perfect place for relaxed morning walks and picnics.
