Fun Things To Do In Kingsland

Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre House Kingsland TX

Year-Round Fun at the Lake The real fun of Kingsland is not in the city itself but in its beautiful surroundings. The city sits along the Colorado River and the scenic Lake LBJ. It also straddles the border between Burnet and Llano counties. Since both lakes are constant level lakes, they stay full all year round when other Texas lakes dip because of droughts.

Lake LBJ Yacht Club and Marina Do not worry as this is not your snooty yacht club but more of a humble country place where you can enjoy renting a boat or have some play time at the Granite Beach Waterpark with an array of inflatable water toys. The waterpark is open weekends Memorial to Labor Day.

Antlers Inn for a little bit of pop culture history you might want to visit Antlers Inn. The inn was built in 1901 as a resort and rest stop for railroad workers and weary travelers. On the property is where the actual house that was used for filming the cult horror classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Kingsland truly is a great place to live. If youd like to talk to us about building your custom home here in Kingsland,Texas give us a call. We cant wait to meet you.

Relax At Horseshoe Bay Resort

Cruise around Horseshoe Bay and Applehead Island to view multimillion-dollar mansions owned by professional athletes, local astronauts, Hollywood personalities, and other ultra-rich Texans.

Horseshoe Bay Resort is the place to stay on the lake, with luxurious accommodations, family-friendly amenities, and world-class golf. The 400-room resort boasts eight different dining options with lakeside views, a relaxing day spa, tennis, fitness facilities, and a full-service marina. A private executive airport makes Horseshoe Bay the premier Texas Hill Country destination.

The Whitewater Putting Course, an intriguing par 72 putting course designed to play like an actual course, only in miniature, is my favorite. Youll see waterfalls, rose gardens, exotic birds, and a trail across the zoysia grass through fairways with challenging bunkers and water hazards.

Really enjoyed playing on this course. It was scenic, there were great granite outcroppings and ridge views, and it was fun. It wasn’t super long, and was challenging enough without being frustraiting. After getting beat up at Horseshoe Bay it was a very nice course to play. Course was in good shape, not too busy, and good deals on Golf Now.

We got the chance to climb the observation tower and walk the trails before the tour – fun and kid friendly, and even the longest hiking path didnt take more than 40 minutes all told. The cave tour was extensive and featured a lot more history and diverse geology than we were expecting – very much worth the time and price of admission. They have food and snacks for sale at the ticket counter, as well as a gift shop. Definitely recommend!
