The Original Ninfaâs on Navigation Boulevard is one of Houstonâs biggest names when it comes to the culinary world. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, this is a restaurant that you donât want to skip. It started as a small taco stand in a tortilla factory and eventually became a full restaurant thatâs taken the city by storm. The restaurant was started by Ninfa Laurenzo who was the pioneer of serving skirt steak in tortillas which we now know as fajitas. Their menu also includes tamales, enchiladas, tacos, and a whole lot more!

See The Totally Bizarre Orange Show
Situated in Houstons east end, The Orange Show is a monumental work of folk art built by one man over the course of nearly 25 years.
Using throwaways, old tiles, and random bits and bobs of junk metal, McKissack morphed the area into a mesh of whimsical sculptures, doorways and displays and the result is part maze, part museum and part stage, all dedicated to his favorite fruit the orange.
Visiting this peculiar place is clearly one of the most bizarre yet essential things to do in Houston.
The Bayou Bend Collection And Gardens
The old residence of notable local benefactor Ima Hogg is now home to ceramics, furniture, paintings, and silver. They have named it the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. It houses the American decorative arts and paintings collection of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.
There are additional educational activities and resources in addition to the 14-acre gardens in the River Oaks area. The lush gardens provide a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo
The infamous Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the best venue to see riders get in their saddle if youre in Houston. People visit the NRG Stadium daily during competition season. It is usually from February end through the beginning of March.
Here they can see various rodeo events such as bareback riding, bull-riding, and steer-wrestling. Traditional activities, including cattle auctions, calf scrambles, and horse displays. You can visit to explore more options about Houston and this place!
Learn About Early Settlers
Sam Houston Park, the oldest in Houston, dates back to 1900. A museum and restored homes are highlights of Houstons history. The museum includes a replica of a general store that originally stood in Egypt, Texas. The oldest house, built in 1823 and moved here in 1973, stands near the museum where it is better protected from hurricanes.
A walking tour around the park located across the street passes homes and St. John Church. Some were destined for demolition but relocated and restored here in the park.
The only home that was original to this location is the stately Kellum-Noble House, built in 1847. It became the park keepers home, and the grounds were the site of the original Houston Zoo.
A placard stands in front of each home and gives instructions on how to listen to the description of who built and lived in the house. Owners came from all walks of life from a freed slave who became a minister and founded Bethel Baptist Church to German immigrants.
Pro Tip: The self-guided tour of the park is free and the museum entrance is $5. A tour to enter three of the seven buildings can be arranged with the Heritage Society.
