What are people saying about things to do in Holmdel, NJ?

This is a review for things to do in Holmdel, NJ:

“While on Instagram, I stumbled upon my friends photo who was at a Lavender farm. After doing research, we found out that the lavender farm was closed on Tuesdays. My friend, ended up finding this one, and we are so so glad to have gone. The people who own the farm are SO nice. They gave us baskets and scissors and taught us how to cut the lavender correctly, and some background information on how the lavender can be used. While looking around the property, we saw chickens! There were 4 fields used for lavender picking. The owner even let us pick some berries he had on site. After picking the lavender we bought some amazing homemade lavender products. We had such an amazing time, and we are already planning our next visit!”

More About National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

On December 7, 1941 at 7:55AM , “a date that will live in infamy,” nearly 200 Japanese aircraft attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, long considered the US “Gibraltar of the Pacific.” The raid, which lasted little more than one hour, left nearly 3,000 dead. Almost the entire US Pacific Fleet was at anchor there, and few ships escaped damage. Several were sunk or disabled, while 200 US aircraft on the ground were destroyed. The attack on Pearl Harbor brought about immediate US entry into WWII, a declaration of war being requested by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and approved by Congress December 8, 1941.

We really enjoyed our afternoon here! We had a few minor complaints in general, but I’m being a lot more flexible due to COVID and whatnot. Pros: No one under 21 allowed in at all. No children, babies, etc. Makes for a more relaxed adult atmosphere. I know some breweries and wineries allow children but our group was happy to see the policy enforced. Food was good! Paninis/salads/cheese + crackers were all good and reasonably priced. Wine was yummy! It’s a bummer we couldn’t do a tasting, but that’s the world now. It is what it is, if/when they open again for tastings we’ll go back for that. All the employees were very friendly, informative, and serious about COVID regulations. I appreciate that. We also bought a really delicious cantaloupe from the farm stand on the way out! Cons:No wine by the bottle. They said it was because of people potentially drinking underage, since they only card you when you buy drinks at the counter. I suspect that it’s in response to the loss of income this year, as it’s atypical in that industry. It was frustrating having to buy by the glass but not the end of the world. The downstairs area was closed to seating. Again not a big deal, but it looked nice down there.

Booked an escape room for my hubby’s birthday – had a blast! This was our first time in an escape room – the staff was really friendly and very helpful – They let us try our best before offering us help – even when we didn’t ask – Cannot wait to return – We didn’t make it our – but if we had about 20 minutes more I think we would’ve done it! Highly recommend!
