Places To Enjoy Movies In Pasco County
Joy-LanDrive-in
Joy-Lan is one of 2 drive-in theaters semi-close to us. Going to the drive-in was another one of those great childhood memories I have growing up in Pasco. Coming up October 31st, they will have been operating out of Dade City, Florida for over 69 years. They are also the last drive-in theater in Pasco County.
Granted we could watch a movie at home, but what is the fun in that? There is something so fun about packing up the car with our dinner, drinks, and snacks. You cant forget the pillows and blankets, though.
It costs 6 bucks per person 10y + and 2 bucks for 4-9-year-olds. Joy-Lan is only open Wednesday- Sunday. They play the newest movies and do also provide a snack bar, with reasonable prices. We either see a matinee show at the Spring Hill theater on Saturdays or we are at Joy-Lan.

Swing A Golf Club At Brooksville Country Club
Hole #16, Brooksville Country Club, Brooksville, Florida
Posted by Brooksville Country Club on Monday, June 29, 2009
If you desire a rare golfing adventure, then dont pass up the chance to play at Brooksville Country Club. The course is a premier sports opportunity with the front nine providing a rolling green landscape and lots of eye-catching, tree-lined fairways. However, it is the back nine of the course that really impresses golfers with dramatic fairways that entwine through amazing age-old oak trees. The final nine holes turn around and in between the rock walls of a fascinating abandoned limestone mine. Theres no doubt Brooksville Country Club is as challenging as it is entertaining for golfing fans of every skill level.

Florida Fruit Picking Goes Beyond Oranges
Theres no doubt Florida has some of the worlds best oranges.
In Pasco, you can pick oranges at Hancock Groves in Dade City.
But thats not all.
During my Pasco County trip, I spent time picking blueberries at Starkey Blueberry Farm, which was a completely new experience for me.
The U-Pick farm features 47 acres of blueberries, with eight varieties to choose from.
Not only that, but the scenery is gorgeous!
Make a right out of their farmstand area where they sell fresh produce, and youll head toward lush forest, the endless rows of berries hugged by Spanish moss.
In the front, a wooden swing sits in front of lovely beautiful lake, offering the perfect respite after your Florida fruit picking adventure.
And for the type of fruit you can drink and get buzzed on head to Strong Tower Vineyard & Winery.
Here you can sip complimentary wine tastings, take a free wine tour and even partake in their U-Pick.
They also host loads of fun events, from yoga in the vines to wine glass painting classes.

Hidden Hernando: Five Attractions Locals Know About But You Might Not
Looking for something to do on a quiet spring afternoon? Been a while since you went to Hernando County?
Try out one of the five attractions on our Hidden Hernando tour:
1. Historic Brooksville Cemetery 1275 Olmes Road 352-540-3806
The cemetery, originally called Chocochattee Cemetery, officially opened in April 1887 on a 5-acre plot of land already housing some graves. Now at more than 50 acres, it’s still in operation, offering various post-life services, including “Green Meadow” natural burial.
The first documented burial at the cemetery was of Charlotte Wynn Pyles Crum, killed by Seminole Indians in September 1842. The first marked grave there belongs to Jane Hope, wife of William Hope, who died at 30 in 1845. Theirs was one of the first white families to settle in the Brooksville area, thought to have arrived as early as the 1830s.
Brooksville Cemetery is the home of more than 5,000 grave sites, including those belonging to veterans from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.
2. Nature Coast Botanical Gardens 1489 Parker Ave., Spring Hill 352-683-9933
3. Little Rock Cannery 15487 Citrus Way, Brooksville 352-799-4226
The Little Rock Cannery is a one-stop location where local residents can their own fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood. It was founded in the mid-1970s in a historic stone school house built in the 1930s.
