Farmstead Creamery And Caf Barn

If all that running around with nature may have left you hungry and not necessarily craving fish.

The Farmstead Creamery and Café is a pleasantly surprising farm-to-table restaurant located inside an actual barn.

It offers delicious traditional cuisine, including salad, wood-fired pizza, pie, gelato, and plenty of sugary treats to keep you warm.

The treats from the French-certified chef are indeed special, making this one of Haywards most popular food joints.

Freshwater Fishing Hall Of Fame

The six-acre plot which is home to the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame was initially developed in 1960, although construction work continued until 1976 until 7 buildings, covering an area of 25,000 square feet, had been erected. It plays host to approximately 100,000 visitors per year and is best known for its incredible Muskie statue which measures in at a whopping 143 feet in length. The lower jaw of the fish serves as an observation deck for up to 20 individuals and is occasionally used as an event space as well. Whilst the Hall of Fame contains written accounts of the record-holding freshwater fish, the museum itself is home to exhibitions featuring 400 mounted fish and 300 freestanding outboard motors.

    Paddling The Lakes And Rivers

Grab your paddle! There are countless beautiful lakes in northern Wisconsin to canoe, kayak, or stand up paddle board. We mustve driven by at least a dozen lakes while exploring the area. Fortunately for us, it was easy to choose which lake to canoe on. Lakewoods Resort conveniently provided a canoe for us to use on Lake Namakagon. We found a calm bay to paddle around in with Harlan. There are also several outfitters if youd like to rent a canoe or kayak for the day.

But the #1 place to paddle, as recommended by all of you, is Namekagon River which begins in Cable. We didnt get a chance to get on the river which is part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. But you can bet its one of of the reasons well be coming back to the area. I hear its excellent for trout fishing.

    Park Theater Hayward Wisconsin

State of the Chippewa Flowage Hayward Wisconsin 2019 part 1

The Park Theater was originally opened in 1948 and it served as a gateway to Hayward for over sixty years. Historically, it had always been a movie theater, with its first ever showing being for the Technicolor film, Romance on the High Seas. However, for the last ten years, the theater has been rebranded and has instead been promoting the performing arts by providing a center and home-base for local performance groups. They specialize in educating the community as to the importance of the arts, especially in regards to embracing multi-cultural themes and ideas. The theater is now used frequently as an area for exhibiting local visual arts.

    The Ranch Hayward Wisconsin

The Ranch Supper Club has been renowned for its exceptionally high-quality cocktails, food, and service since its inception back in 1931. It has seen a number of different owners since those days, but its safe to say that each has placed their own mark on the propertyand none more so than Vivian Levinson, who introduced the iconic herd of bison, deer and sway back horse to the grounds of The Ranch. The most recent owner of the club is Hayler Bochler, whose family owned the restaurant before her and from whom she gained her own love of good food.

My Midwest: Things to do in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (With ...

Hayward is not just about fishing, but it is also unapologetically about casual and professional golfing.

With 9 manicured golf courses spread across a 30-mile range, this city earns its nickname as the Golf Capital of Wisconsin.

Popular golf clubs include the Big Fish Golf Club and the Hayward Golf Club.

The latter also sponsors the Hayward Open, a two-day annual event organized at the start of summer.

So if you are in the mood to tee off or spot a budding Tiger Woods in Wisconsin, Hayward is the place for you.

    Hike The North Country Trail

The hike to Juniper Rock Overlook was by far my favorite activity to do with Harlan and the rest of the crew. Shoutout to my friend Sarah Kozlowski who recommended this trail. Its part of the 200 mile North Country Trail but is only a mile each way. The hike was fairly easy, but there were still a few incline points especially at the end as we approached the overlook. For such a short hike, the view was epic with the most stunning fall colors in the Chequamegon-Nicolate National Forest. Harlan loved all the maple leaves and of course, the mesmerizing view at the end.

There werent any Google Map points that I could find on any website, so I marked it on a map for you in case you want to do this hike.

    Anglers Bar And Grill

Sitting comfortably in the middle of Haywards busy main street, Anglers Bar and Grill serve a little bit of everything. Selling delectable and juicy burgers, homemade pizzas and specialty Mexican dishes, they can cater for many tastes and preferences. The bar was founded in the early 1930s as a basement bar, with a garage-come-gas-station on the ground floor. It wasnt long before the gas station was remodeled as an extension of the bar and bowling alley . Later, in 1978, construction began on the outdoor beer garden and increasing the availability of indoor seating. The bar and grill was then purchased in 2017 by Pat and Billie Sabin for their thirtieth anniversary, and they now run it with the hope of continuing the rich legacy of the Anglers name.
