Volvo Inks Corporate Sponsorship Deal With Charleston Battery
The 2020 event was first postponed, then held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19 also delayed the 2021 race, pushing it to Sept. 25 from March 28.
I think by having the Bridge Run back at its more traditional springtime date kind of signals that things are getting back to normal, said Chris Menkel, who owns Fleet Feet running stores in Mount Pleasant and Summerville.

The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition along with Charleston Wine + Food and the Bridge Run mark the kickoff for the spring tourism season in Charleston.
The Bridge Run’s economic impact in a normal year is almost $33 million with direct local spending usually breaking the $10 million mark, according to past studies conducted by race organizers.
This past September, the event was limited to a maximum of 25,000 runners and walkers because of the pandemic, well below the usual 35,000 to 40,000 who normally sign up. About 11,800 participants started and finished the course last fall.

Treetop Quest Aerial Adventure
If you live in Atlanta like we do, you know Treetop Quest from their Dunwoody and Gwinnett locations, and now they are also in Greenville!
Plan to spend about 2.5 hours playing in the tree canopy. If you have little ones, theyll love the Chick Pea Course . Our kiddos spent their time on the ziplines in Levels 1-3and Dan and the 12yo also tackled Level 4 and LOVED it.
So, what about COVID precautions? At this time, you must make a reservation before you can zip. When you arrive, be sure to wear your mask. You dont have to wear it once you are climbing and zip lining, but you will need it for check in, getting secured into a harness, and the safety briefing.
You also need gloves for the course, and while they have a few spare pairs, they recommend you bring your own if you have them. Also, only one person is allowed on each platform at a time, once youre up in the course. You can read more here.
PS whether youre near Atlanta or Greenville, Treetop Quest makes a great birthday party activity!

Stay At Hyatt Regency Greenville
We stayed at Hyatt Regency Greenville on this visit, and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Hyatt Regency is centrally located in Downtown, with easy parking. Its in the heart of Downtown so we were close to all the shopping and restaurants, Falls Park, Reedy Rides and the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
It was just a hop and a skip to the Heritage Green, and museums thereand an easy shot out to Paris Mountain and Treetop Quest.
We stayed in the Atrium Suite with spectacular views of the hotel atrium
The Suite was large, with plenty of space for relaxing. It included a mini fridge and full dining table. This was perfect for getting a little work done
I also loved that the Suite included two full bathrooms and a separate bedroom with sofa and TV and desk for mom and dad.
The boys slept on the sleeper sofa. It was a sectional sofa, but still made out into a bed.
The Atrium Suite was probably designed for entertaining or business meetingsbut for a family staying several nights in the area it also worked perfectly! Andits more affordable than you might think.
PS Want to see a walk-thru of our room? We saved it in our IG Highlights here.
The hotel offers an outdoor pool and fitness center.
A Starbucks is within the same building, as well as Kilwins
We also dined one evening at Roost, the farm-to-table restaurant of the hotel. We enjoyed dinner, sitting on patio and watching the crowds go by as the sun fell.

Swamp Rabbit Trail With Reedy Rides
First, what is the Swamp Rabbit Trail? Much like Atlanta has the Beltline, Greenville residents enjoy the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a 20- mile multi-use path that connects you to parks, attractions, local businesses and other destinations.
We recommend walking or biking this beauty for scenic views. Our family rented bikes from Reedy Rides, located in Downtown Greenville and open 7 days a week.
While Swamp Rabbit Trail is almost perfectly flat in elevation, Reedy Rides offers 3- and 7- speed comfort cruisers. Both are perfect for the trail or the downtown streets. The boys rode kids bikes, but they also offer child trailers, tag-a-longs and tandems. Bike locks and helmets are provided.
We rode from the Reedy Rides downtown location, north through the Furman University campus, to Travelers Rest. It was about a 9-mile ride there and back and very easy though Ill admit to still being super proud of the boys. This was their longest bike ride yet -but also the one with the least complaints.
Our stop in Travelers Rest included crepes for them and coffee for us at Tandem Then afterward we headed to Farmhouse Tacos for tacos and a margarita Both of these places were fantastic, and we truly enjoyed Travelers Rest next time I hope we can spend a little more time there.
Get your coffee fix from Leopard Forest before heading to Trailblazer Park, the site of a weekly farmers market, and the Carolina Bee Company is a must-stop to pick up some local honey before heading out.
Horseback Riding At Black Horse Run
Hey ladies, your knight in shining armor waits to take you on a romantic trail ride. At the same time, men dont have to dress up as knights , a romantic ride with your loved one on a well-trained horse at Black Horse Run is a break from the ordinary.
The Upstate has so many gorgeous places, and exploring on horseback is a great way to see them and revel in that necessary couple of time together.
