The town of Celebration is like a hidden corner of Orlando, somewhere very different from the theme parks and big thrills of the rest of the city.
It does have a huge Disney link though as it was conceived by Walt Disney as a model town with all the different elements from a water tower to retro cinema. Today its the perfect place for a wander.
Theres a large lake at the center with lovely rocking chairs to sit and enjoy the location from. A fantastic water fountain provides the perfect spot to cool off on hot sunny days.
Celebration is filled with gorgeous little boutique stores so its a great place to shop too. Some of the best family resorts in Florida are close by, so its a lovely place to base yourself. Named as one of the 10 prettiest towns in America you can also enjoy it by taking one of the organized tours here.

What To Do In Florida Other Than Amusement Parks
I will be in orlando on Thursday. I come every other year with my family, which includes an 11 & 13 year old boys. We do the amusement parks, but I don’t enjoy it. Please advise all other activities. Thank you in advance for you help.
I could go on all day of things to see and do in Orlando besides theme parks. Checkout some of the others posts ive made on this same topic. I also recommend you browse through the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau website:
Depends on your sense of humour, but you could try Fiascos Circus and Magic Dinner show. If you can relate to the ‘Fawlty Towers’ theme , you might have a lot of fun. We’ve just got back from vacation been half a dozen times to Orlando/Kissimmee but this one was new so we thought we’d try it, and enjoyed it more than the Pirates, Arabian Nights etc .
Be prepared for the show to have a few ‘hitches’, the odd moment of spot-welding, hiccups with the popcorn delivery, goldfish racing and the leaks in the roof which has yet to be repaired after the last hurricane. You also receive a poncho as part of your gift pack – whether you choose to wear it is up to you…
It’s like an alternative version of Las Vegas – but the boys should love it! Evening – allow 3 hours. Free drinks like the other shows, but food much better !
Cocoa Beach – little beach town with beaches a surf shop, and some restaurants. Nice little afternoon outing.
