This festival is in honor of the Jewish holiday Lag Bomer which commemorates the anniversary of the passing of the great sage and mystic, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, and the disciples of Rabbi Akiva and his message of brotherly love. The party will kick off with a Kosher pizza dinner from Jerusalem Pizza at 5:30 p.m., along with activities like archery tag, a 27-foot slide and bounce house, foam machine pit, face painting, a hockey tournament, nature hike and crafts. Friday, December 3, 2021 from 5p-9pThe HAWK FH Community Center Parents can plan a special night-out while kids get to enjoy a night-in at the Hawk Community Center. Hawk Recreation Staff will plan and oversee activities for a fun-filled night. You do not need to be a passholder to participate. Emergency form must be filled out at check-in. Participants will have supervised access to the pool and should bring a swimsuit if they wish to participate in pool activities. AGES 5-11. Resident/Non-Resident $25/$30. To register.

It houses a string of recreational facilities such as eight softball/baseball fields, six soccer fields, a court for shuffleboard, and four sand volleyball courts among others. 9 Round is a specialized fitness program with centers all over the world that offers a unique, fun, proven workout with guaranteed results. 9Round offers a half-hour kickboxing themed fitness program that includes a functional, cardiovascular, interval and circuit training . The programs consist of nine intensive workout stations developed by a World Champion Kickboxer. At different workout stations the clients use dumb bells, medicine balls, kettle bells, jump ropes and other equipment to increase strength and stamina. The trainers are there to assist at every station. Trainers also show clients how to adjust exercises based on their fitness level, how to wrap hands for support when punching and more.

The Finnish Center, which was founded in 1966, established a Cultural Center in 1974 in Farmington Hills, Michigan with the goal of promoting the Finnish culture and organizing social and educational activities. Among other activities, In 1975 FCA Senior Citizens’ Housing Corporation was established to replace an elder’s housing committee. The Housing Corporation developed the Tapiola Village housing for the elderly in 1986 and the Freedom Square retirement village in 1991. The Finnish Center Association offers its members an opportunity to take Finnish language classes, weaving, folk dancing, singing, cooking and baking and drama instruction. The Cultural Center library has a collection of Finnish and Finnish-American books, periodicals and archival materials, providing an additional opportunity for the members to learn about Finland.
