Reading Terminal Market is an enclosed public market next to Philadelphias downtown Convention Center. It is situated in Reading Terminals former train shed and has been there since 1890. Over one hundred merchants offer mouth-watering food, home-baked goods, and much more.
Visitors and locals come to dine at the markets many eateries or to buy fresh produce, artisanal cheese, meats, fish, flowers, crafts, books, ethnic food, homemade chocolate, and candy, amongst other things. The market is open daily with some exceptions: Pennsylvania Dutch merchants are closed from Sunday until Tuesday, and stalls run by Amish or Mennonite families are closed on Sundays.

Pennsylvania Tourist Attractions: Steamtown National Historic Site
Steamtown National Historic Site is a railroad museum in downtown Scranton, Pennsylvania, located in a former train yard. The railcars and locomotives at this site were part of the collection of F. Nelson Blount, a seafood magnate from New Jersey.
The historic site has a working 1920s roundhouse, a locomotive repair shop, and a visitors center with a theater, interactive historical displays, archives, and a gift shop. Visitors are able to enter many of the railcars and locomotives, and short excursions on trains are offered in spring, summer, and fall. Tours of the locomotive shop are available, enabling visitors to watch trains being repaired. This site is a great place to bring small children and has a gift shop, but no café or food service.

Bucks County still has 12 covered bridges from the 19th century. Follow this covered bridge driving tour which links 10 of them. We followed a bit of it to check them out. And even just the ride through the county is scenic and lovely.
The preserve is 134 acres of nearly 800 species of flowers, trees and shrubs, many of which are rare, threatened or endangered native plants of the Delaware Valley Region. Trails wind through the woodlands and meadows offering a lovely afternoon.

Pennsylvania Activities: Eisenhower National Historic Site
Eisenhower National Historic Site, run by the National Park Service, consists of the home and farm of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States. After a long military career moving from post to post, Mamie Eisenhower insisted that they have a home of their own, and in 1950 this home and property were built.
It served as a retreat from the White House, a place to entertain foreign dignitaries, and was a place to retire to after Eisenhowers presidency. Notable guests over the years included Nikita Khrushchev, Charles de Gaulle, and Winston Churchill. Eisenhower raised Black Angus cattle, and to this day a Black Angus cattle breeding center operates on the farm. To visit, one must catch a shuttle from the visitors center tours of the house are self-guided and include a short movie, displays, and all of the Eisenhowers original furnishings.

Get Lost In Wildflowers
Stop and smell the wildflowers! Stroll through Bowmans Hill Wildflower Preserve and spot tons of native flowers. There are nine different hiking paths to follow, and they are all easy to moderate. They also have a gift shop and plant store.
Be aware that you might come into contact with poison ivy if you go off the trail and walk through the wooded area.
While there, you might want to visit the nearby Bowmans Hill Tower, where you can see up to 14 miles away.

Michener Art Museum Doylestown Pennsylvania
James A. Michener, a popular novelist, Pulitzer Prize winner and Doylestown resident, was a major driver of the establishment of this museum. He initially donated $500000 and a portion of his art collection. Ultimately, his contribution would total $8.5 million. The private museum was established in 1988 in a former prison building that had been built a century earlier. The premier attraction is a collection of Pennsylvania Impressionism, a movement from the early 20th century. A replica of Michener’s office is a permanent exhibit. The museum also has a sculpture garden, reading room, shop and café.

Flight 93 National Memorial
On the morning of September 11, 2001, United Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco was hijacked by four Al-Qaeda terrorists, who, it is believed, intended to crash the plane into the U.S. Capitol. Thanks to the selfless bravery of the flight crew and the passengers on board, the terrorists were overpowered and the plane crashed into a hillside in Pennsylvania, killing everyone on board, but averting greater tragedy.
The National Flight 93 Memorial tells the story of that fateful day, presenting an emotional and interactive visitors center, a memorial wall, a walking path, and the opportunity to listen to actual phone calls made by passengers onboard the flight. The memorial is run by the National Park Service and knowledgeable rangers and volunteers are on hand to answer questions.

Best Things To Do In Doylestown Pennsylvania
Doylestown is a borough in, and the county seat of, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It is situated 35 miles north of Philadelphia and 80 miles southwest of New York City. It was founded in 1745 at the intersection of what is now known as US Route 202 and Pennsylvania Route 611. It is named after William Doyle who set up a tavern at that point. The population of the settlement waxed and waned and at one time, the entire historic town center was threatened with demolition until it was saved by civic action. There have been several notable residents of the town, such as Henry Chapman Mercer, Pearl S. Buck, James A Michener and Oscar Hammerstein. Certain attractions may be temporarily closed or require advance reservations. Some restaurants are currently offering pickup only. Hours/availability may have changed.

Visit The Fonthill Castle And Park
Visit Henry Mercers home for a look into the mind of an eccentric collector and tile maker. His home, the Fonthill Castle was built completely out of concrete to protect his collections from any potential fire. The interior is work of art filled with Mercers tiles on almost every surface.
Behind the Fonthill Castle is still functioning Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, where you can tour the historic factory.

Silver Lake Nature Center Bristol
Another nature center in Bucks County that we love to visit is the Silver Lake Nature Center in Bristol. This park surrounds Silver Lake, where visitors can canoe or kayak.
The trails are a mix of earth, stones, and boardwalk. The longest trail, the Silver Lake trail, is 3.5 miles long and traverses over various terrains. You may even spot some native wildlife, like a fox.
In addition to the several trails surrounding the lake, there is also the Earth Ship, a structure built from recycled materials, like old tires and wine bottles.
