Visit The Motown Museum
Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, the Supremes, Michael Jackson these are just a few of the legends who recorded music right here in Detroit. As such, one of the top Detroit attractions is the Motown Museum, AKA Hitsville, USA.
Motown founder Berry Gordy purchased a photography studio in 1959 and transformed it into a recording studio. Over the following decade, countless hit songs were recorded here in Studio A. In short, the Motown sound was born in this very building.
Motown Records moved its operations to Los Angeles in 1972, and many believe the heart of the label was lost in the process. In 1985, the Motown Museum opened up to continue the legacy of this important piece of musical history.
The Motown Museum is open from 10AM-6PM Tuesday-Sunday from May to October. During the fall and winter, its also closed on Sundays.
Tickets are first-come, first-serve, and often sell out on the weekend. It costs $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and children ages 5-17. You can get directions to the museum and find it on the map here.

Are You Ready For Some Football
$From now until January, a fall tradition for football fans is to get excited about the upcoming season only to have their hopes dashed by the historically hapless Detroit Lions. This year the Lions are on a, er losing, streak as of mid-October, piling up a sad winless record. But our shared disappointment is a bonding activity in and of itself so whether you watch from home, at the bar or at Ford Field, you won’t be alone in this fall tradition.

Frequently Asked Questions And Answers
What are people saying about things to do in Detroit, MI?
This is a review for things to do in Detroit, MI:
“A dive bar located beer Greektown. While some of the games were fun, quite a few were broken and several took coins without letting us play.Several reviews mentioned getting tokens with drinks, but we got draft beer and did not receive any. Only one of the signature cocktails was currently being offered. Floors were a sticky mess. Not a place that I’m jumping to go back to, but perhaps after a COVID recovery period the vibe will pick up. A decent place if you like classic games, but no particularly new games seemed to be featured. Located down a flight of stairs in the basement, unsure of accessibility features if you can’t take stairs.”
