There are a couple of places nearby that would be a shame to miss while youre in the area. The first is Garden of the Gods, a free city park in Colorado Springs, just an hour south of Cherry Creek.
Encompassing 1,350 acres, and pierced by huge red sandstone rock formations, all 15 miles of trails are open to leashed pets. The main loop through the park is paved and easy walking for dogs and people of all skill levels. And several trails offer great views of Pikes Peak!

Hiking Red Rocks
Just 40 minutes up the road from Cherry Creek is an awe-inspiring combination of natural beauty and man-made ingenuity. Red Rocks Amphitheater is a concert venue built into the red sandstone outcroppings where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains.
Many people come here to exercise on the stadium seating, running the rows, climbing the tiers, or practicing yoga with an incredible view. Its an interesting spectacle, but with 868 acres to explore, we suggest you have a peek at the stage and then take your pooch and hit the trail!

Blossoms Of Light At The Denver Botanic Gardens
Get in the holiday mood at the Blossoms of Light, a dazzling and ever-changing display of lights from the Denver Botanic Gardens.
This 360-degree immersive light experience lights up the gardens and pathways, and its a must-see for native Coloradoans and visitors alike.
We enjoy visiting the Blossoms of Light every year and its become a tradition for us. But be prepared with cold weather gear because it can be very chilly outside.
Holiday treats and warm drinks are available for purchase. Or you can buy a souvenir at the gift shop on your way in or out of the gardens.
Tickets cost between $16-19 for members and $18-21 for non-members. Children under 2 get in for free. Tickets sell out quickly and can only be purchased online.
Dates for Blossoms of Light are from 4:30-9 pm daily.

Tony Grampsas Park In Golden
Though this park is a little outside the Denver area, the 2 1/2 acres of wooded land, grass and natural look of the space made it a favorite of many of the dog owners we spoke to.
It has trees and a little creek running through it, so be prepared for a muddy pup, said Deirdre Borer, who has a 7-year-old Swiss mountain dog mix named Uni. But its so much nicer than the gravel pits we have in my neighborhood.

Cherry Creek Dog Park
Invest in a park pass and a dog park pass and enjoy this 107-acre dog park full of open fields, trails to run through and a creek to splash around in. Its the only dog park we added that charges a fee, but enough pet owners recommended it we thought it should be included.
Location: Cherry Creek Reservoir South Entrance Road, Aurora
Hours: daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Best for: Water-loving dogs and energetic dogs that respond to voice control
Pros: huge area to explore creek to play in amount of people allowed in is vetted so its never too crowded space available for sport dog training
Cons: if your dog likes water, he will probably be soaked costs $3 for a day pass or $25 for a year pass, plus the annual or daily park pass, $83 and $11 respectively there may be a wait to get in
Things to know: Only three dogs per handler allowed must have an annual pass to use this park all handlers must have a leash and poop bags on hand

Parade Of Lights And Other Local Parades
The 9News Parade of Lights in Denver is one of the most popular holiday events in Colorado every year!
And for 2021 they are making even better thanks to illuminated floats, giant balloons, and marching bands, with fun activities across the downtown area.
