If Marriott is your choice, this is typical CY. I don’t love that breakfast is not free – but I do love that there is a bar open til 10. Two great things about this place – it’s about 60 seconds off of I85 – and there are plenty of places to eat very close by. I had no problems described in some reviews – room was clean, no surprises. Didn’t get my welcome gift : / which COULD have been “free” breakfast – not sure what was up with that, I’m not really a status-hound, but since there was no water in the room, that would have been a nice touch.
Quality Inn Concord Nc
We decided to stay at the Quality Inn in Concord, NC. It was only $69 a night and got great reviews.
I didnt tell my daughter until right before we got there because I knew she might have an attitude about my super-budget-friendly choice.
But, needless to say, we were both surprised by how beautiful the room was. The hotel has recently been renovated, and they did a great job. And when you can impress a 17-year-old, you know youre doing something right.
We really liked the outdoor pool and how all the rooms face it so that you can see it from your bedroom.
Here is the free breakfast bar that we enjoyed. It includes waffles, pastries, toast, yogurt, cereal, and hot food like bacon, eggs, and sausage.

Papa Robbs Paradise Ice
As we were driving around Concord, we happened to drive by this bright, colorful sign for Papa Robbs Paradise Ice.
Im so glad we stopped because this certainly was a hidden gem that I hadnt read about when preparing to come to Concord.
Kids were loving the bouncy house and large yard to run around in.
Heres a delicious Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sunday that we tried.
Papa Robbs sells ice cream, popsicles, shaved ice, and milkshakes.
I would definitely recommend visiting here with your kids to enjoy the playground, bouncy house, and colorful seating.

Markham Nature Park And Arboretum
The arboretum is located on La Vista Avenue in Concord and is spread over multiple acres. Unlike many of its more cultivated counterparts, it has primarily been left in its untamed natural state.
Its full of flowers, plants, and trees from all over the world. Due to its coastal location, it experiences less drastic changes in weather than is typical in inland California.
There are plenty of shaded seating areas and well-marked paths as well.
