Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Even if youve never tried stand up paddle boarding before, its pretty easy to stand up on a SUP and actually quite relaxing.
The Whitewater Express folks brought our boards down to the flat part of the river , and got us all set up, then climbed down to pick everything up, so all we had to do was paddle.
My favorite part was being able to see what was on the bottom of the river. We were able to see fish and turtles!
Renting a SUP is seasonal, and is available in the summer.

How To Choose An Independent Senior Living/retirement Community
As you research retirement communities, youll find many that offer stunning landscaping and lots of tempting perks. Nice! Remember, though, that the only features that matter are the ones that will benefit you, or you and your spouse together, in the way you want to live independently. If you dont play tennis, who cares that there are six courts?
Make a list of things that are most important to you, and use it as you compare options. An atmosphere that is friendly and welcoming goes a long way toward making any community feel like home. Some factors to consider:
- Advanced levels of care available, if any
See for yourselfMaking a decision sight-unseen is a bad plan, especially when the decision fundamentally affects your lifestyle and the rest of your life. A personal visit to your short list of candidate communities is a must multiple visits are even better because there is so much to take in. Because The Lodge is part of the Magnolia Manor family of senior living communities, visiting any of our six other campuses that offer independent living will give you an excellent, first-hand feel for what its like to be part of our family.
When you visit:
- Chat with some of the residents and team members
- Check out the wellness/fitness center
- Check out a housing unit like the one youre considering
- Speak with a team member one-on-one chat to discuss your personal situation and desires
- Ask yourself if you will feel cared-for and comfortable here

Take The Long Walk At Osu
Another OSU romantic hotspot, the Long Walk is steeped in tradition and should only be used by the most serious of romanticsthose wishing to get married.
The Long Walk is located on the Oval at OSU and is the sidewalk that runs the length of the Oval from William Thompson Library to the Ohio State University Seal at College Road. The tradition behind the walk is that a couple must begin the walk, hand in hand at the statue of former OSU president William Oxley Thompson and walk the entire length of the sidewalk until they reach the seal, where they kiss. If a couple does this they are destined to stay in love forever, get married, or whichever version of the legend you like. This is not a first date kind of thing.
Once againkeep in mind that parking is difficult in the area so don’t ruin a wonderful time by getting a ticket, or in some areas, towed. Also, be careful taking the walk during inclement weather. The seal is notoriously slippery if it has snow on it.
