We had a few things planned for our time in Memphis – unfortunately, construction forced road closures made getting around rather difficult. Added to that Mud Island being closed ruled that out SO, at the recommendation of the Visitors center off we headed to Collierville. Wow was that worth the trip.We parked at the Historic Town square and spent about 45 minutes wandering around reading the information boards and taking lots of photos.As I was walking under the pergola in the square I heard bell chiming out the tune to Winter Wonderland. It plays on the hour it seems. From here we ventured to the Morton Museum in the old Christian Church.This is chock full of the history of the town and region. Plenty of photos, memorabilia, stories etc and the staff are great.They have period outfits that you can take your picture with so even kids will enjoy this museum.I would highly recommend a visit to both the historic square AND the Morton Museum at the Church
