The Cincinnati Brewery District was first developed in the mid-1800s by German immigrants. The Germans brought their brew-making skills with them from Europe to Ohio and, by the early 1900s, there were 17 breweries in the thriving district.
Although the district struggled through Prohibition and a period of economic decline, today, the Brewery District is blossoming once again.
New breweries occupy pre-Prohibition brewery buildings. Colorful art murals are decorate buildings. Beer Pedal Pubs and tour groups navigate the historic streets along the Brewing Heritage Trail.
