Check Out The Willis Towers Revamped Skydeck

Streeterville in downtown Chicago (Aug 10, 2020)

If vertigo-inducing experiences are your thing, high up Sears Tower, more formally known as the Willis Tower, a glass ledge breaches the buildings dimensions and stands 4ft outside of the walls of the 103rd floor. Looking down youll see a 1,353 ft drop staring back up at you as you sit in a tiny glass box protruding outside of what was once the worlds tallest building.

After undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation the iconic experience has now reopened boasting even more reason to head up to the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower. Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center

9603 Woods Dr

Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center is a must visit, even if you are traveling with children.

The museum spells some harsh truths about the Second World War and imparts some important lessons that kids should be familiar with.

The museum also has an art collection and several great educational resources for young minds to learn about history.

I cannot recommend the Harvey L Miller Family Youth Exhibition enough if you are traveling with preteens. The exhibition has several hands-on activities and games that focus on building empathy, leadership skills and confidence.

The kids will surely enjoy the exhibit. Despite the heaviness of the material, it is still one of the most kid-friendly things to do near Chicago.

Children and, lets face it, most adults too will have a blast splashing around Crown Fountain in Millennium Park. The multimedia art by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, almost defies explanation but its one of the most entertaining examples of public art in the city. A pair of glass brick towers looms over a granite pool.

What images are displayed on these towers?

Well, the faces of ordinary Chicagoans. Cute, right? Except nozzles attached to the towers make it look like their mouths are spewing water on passersby below.

Still cute?

Honestly, the cheerful shrieks and giggles from the cheerful crowd mean we dont mind the fountains tongue-in-cheek humor.
