Although the setup is a little smaller, Buckeye Valley features an impressive collection of artifacts like pottery from the pre-Columbian times and historic photographs lined thoughtfully along the two large galleries recently added to the original buildings. Established by I.H. Parkman in 1954, it displays historical pieces focusing on the towns rich and vibrant local history. Admission to educational exhibits and classes is free.

This 680-hectare wildlife area lies to the east and west of Highway 85 as it crosses Gila River. This Buckeye tourist attraction is home to a number of diverse wildlife, including 140 species of birds, 19 species of reptiles, a number of mammals, and a variety of fishes. You can explore the Robbins Butte Trail and enjoy nature. You can even buy a license to fish and hunt. Unfortunately, overnight public camping is not allowed and fishing is permitted in Gila River only.

There are some interesting structures to see when you visit Buckeye, and one to put at the top of your list is the Historic Gillespie Dam Bridge. The bridge was built in 1926, while the dam it crosses was created in 1920. Originally, the dam was built to divert water to its neighboring streams for agricultural purposes. Now, the dam only exists during heavy rain, and the bridge is only used for foot traffic.
