Demographics For The Cdp
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,381 people, 627 households, and 369 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 147.8 per square mile . There were 1,494 housing units at an average density of 159.9/sq mi . The racial makeup of the CDP was 78.86% White, 17.38% African American, 0.51% Native American, 0.80% Asian, 1.45% from other races, and 1.01% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.26% of the population.
There were 627 households, out of which 19.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.0% were living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.1% were non-families. Of all households 33.0% were made up of individuals, and 12.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.82.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 17.7% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 33.2% from 45 to 64, and 22.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 49 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.0 males.

Tour The Wlffer Estate Vineyards
In total, the Wölffer Estate includes 470 acres, but only 52 of them are in the Hamptons . In Sagaponack, New York, you can reserve a tour of the vineyard and the wine cellar, which includes a four-wine tasting. Plus, Wölffer also makes dry cider and gin. On Fridays and Saturdays in the summer, the estates Wine Stand is open, and its become a popular post-beach spot for drinking wine and watching the sun sink behind the vineyard.

The Hamptons New York comprises a group of towns, villages, and hamlets, located in the eastern end of Long Island. While full of varying neighborhoods, the Hamptons are made up of two townships: The Town of Southampton and the Town of East Hampton.
The Hamptons Long Island region is globally recognized as an affluent hot spot, welcoming visitors from near and far with the traditional rural atmosphere that the South Fork has to offer.
They begin approximately 80 miles east of New York City, in Westhampton, and extend another 50 miles to the tip of the islands South Fork in Montauk.
Depending on your planned destination, your drive from the city could take anywhere from two-and-a-half, to three or four hours long.

Whether youre there for a weekend or a few weeks, here are more than two dozen ways to have fun with the kids in the Hamptons, both inside and out.
1. Learn, Play, and Create Young minds can run wild at the Childrens Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton. The CMEEs Long Island-themed indoor play space and an outdoor playground. CMEE also hosts a variety of toddler and kid classes including Baby & Me, Cooking, Chess, Sensory Play and Gardening.
2. Take in a Ballgame Grab the crackerjacks and cheer for your local baseball team from the Montauk Mustangs to the Westhampton Aviators or Sag Harbor Whalers! The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League features seven teams with college players from around the country. Most games take place nearly every evening at 5pm in July. Youth clinic also available this summer, held in Peconic Lake.
4. Perfect Your Swing Play a round of mini-golf at Southampton Golf Range, Whales Tale on Shelter Island, Puff n Putt in Montauk or The Childrens Museum of East End in Bridgehampton. Note: Whales Tale also has an on-site cafe with delicious ice cream. Keep that in mind when youre seeking a sweet reward after a long day of mini-golf.
