Stony Brook Grist Mill
This water-powered grist mill is a picturesque place with a historic background. The restored mill is open every Saturday in the summer. Visitors can see the water wheel in motion and purchase fresh ground corn meal.
Even if the grist mill is closed, you can still walk around the grounds. Lizzie loved walking across the bridges and following the river across the street.

This small, quiet beach is an ideal location for families to go swimming and see the tidal flats when the tides are low enough.
During low tides, the water recedes so low that it leaves a lot of space to walk around the shores this is referred to as Brewster Flats.

One of the places you should see while on vacation in Brewster is the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.
This museum features a collection of local wildlife and a 320-acre environmental protection land located in the back of the museum called the Wings Island Conservation Area.
When you enter the museum, you will be greeted with a huge sign where you can see the entirety of the conservation area.
You can take a map near the sign to guide you around the area.
There are two routes that you can take depending on where you want to go.
One route will lead you to the Wildflower Farm and the Salt Marsh Loop, and the other one will lead you to the conservation area.
Along the way, you can find numerous spots where you can stop by and relax, enjoy the view, and snap some pictures of the scenic vistas around the museum.
At the end of the trail, you will find a rewarding scene from the beach.
Brewster For The Holidays
Held at Drummer Boy Park next to Windmill Village, Brewster for the Holidays is a monthlong event that starts at the end of November and runs until Christmas Eve. The many festivities include a holiday concert, a tree lighting ceremony, historic inn tours, and photos with Santa Claus at Lemon Tree Village. Even the restored windmill is aglow with lights at night!

Brewster is home to some notable historic structures, many of which are open to the public. The Brewster Historical Society is a good place to start, since it is now housed in the 1799 Elijah Cobb House on Lower Road. The historical society also maintains the 1795 Higgins Farm Windmill, now located in Drummer Boy Park . The Brewster Old Kings Highway Historic District includes much of the territory immediately surrounding a 3-mile stretch of Route 6A among the highlights are the 1881 Old Town Hall, the 1868 Brewster Ladies Library , and a cemetery dating back to 1707. The c. 1659 Dillingham House is one of the oldest buildings on Cape Cod, as well as one of its few remaining historic saltbox structures. With a fun history, Brewster Ladies Library is a one-of-a-kind gem to history buffs and locals alike. In 1853, twelve women founded the Ladies Library to fulfill the need for a town library. At the time, men could also take books out, but they had to pay a higher fee. However, over time, this library moved to a new building in 1868, added over time, and dropped the mens fee requirement.
