Isak Heartstone is a famous landmark in Breckenridge, Colorado. This fifteen-foot wooden sculpture is made of recycled materials and is located not too far from downtown Breckenridge.
Travelers from all over try to find Isak. He got his name from three little girls that came by and gave Isak a stone heart. This story inspired the sculpture that was created during the Breckenridge Festival of International Arts.

Note, there is no public parking near the trailhead. You must hike the path to find him. Finding the Breckenridge troll is a common activity for travelers visiting Colorado.

High Line Railroad Park
High Line Railroad Park
High Line Railroad Park is a lovely railroad heritage location.
Its one of downtown Breckenridges most interesting places to visit.
It tells the tale of the railroad industry and how the town grew as a result of its contributions.
Numerous guided tours allow you to learn as much as possible about the subject.
High Line Railroad Park also boasts an impressive centerpiece: a train called Engine No. 9.
Back in its heyday, it was one of only two locomotives that traveled the difficult narrow-gauge tracks.
With the dangerous terrain of Colorado, it is a crucial part of the states mining past.
Another thing to check out at High Line Railroad Park is a restored rotary snowplow.
It is one of the worlds only five existing machines of its kind.
The plows were used in order to clear the tracks in the winter.
You can also view a C& S caboose replica, a flatcar exhibit, a train-themed childrens playground, and an intriguing boxcar diorama.

Breckenridge Beverages To Try
Before you plan your pub crawl tour of Breckenridge, please READ OUR ALITITUDE SICKNESS BLOG POST. The nearly 10k foot elevation of Breckenridge is no joke and drinking alcohol at such a high elevation has an impact. Im not saying that youll get extra loopy because of the elevation, but that if youre not acclimated and drinking enough water or getting enough salt, youll get a really bad hangover VERY quickly and you wont have a swift recovery.
Having said that, visiting the unique brewers and distillers is one of the best things to do in Breckenridge.
Continental Divide Winery: the Worlds Highest Elevation Winery
To be honest, I had low expectations of wine coming from something in Colorado, especially having spent so much time in the Santa Maria Valley wine country and Washington wine country and loving that, but Continental Divide Winery actually makes some pretty wonderful wines. They use grapes grown in both Colorado and Napa, so have got fruit bringing in attributes of both regions.
Our favorite wine, unanimously between the two of us, was the Chardonnay. It was interesting and not funky. Not funky is how I say that a wine from an unusual place is good and tastes like any other standard elevation winery. Continental Divide Winery actually had several really good wines, so bravo to them for cracking the code for higher elevation fermenting and bottling.
