Grab A Drink At The Cheers Bar
Boston is the home of the original bar which was the inspiration for the hit television show Cheers, and you can still visit this Beacon Hill establishment today.
While it doesnt look exactly like it did on TV, there is a second Cheers bar that was opened up in Quincy Market after the success of the show, and it is designed to look like the bar depicted on television.
In addition to various pub grub and beer, you can also purchase an authentic Cheers mug while youre here!

One of the most picturesque neighbourhoods of Boston, Beacon Hill is an amazing place to explore. Especially hand-in-hand with your other half. Another option is to explore the area with a local guide and get to know more about the historic charm.
Strolling the especially charming Acorn Street, with its cobblestones, rows of red-brick, overflowing flower boxes and gas lamps or admiring the houses on Louiseburg Square has got to be one of the best things to do for enamored couples. Youll find yourself saying those stupid things like Id love to live here: its one of the most desirable areas of the city. Good luck with that. Throughout the year, there are usually several different live performances available to the public.
One of the best examples is at Boston Common, where there are usually at least a few shows at the Parkman Bandstand and some movies in the park during the warmer months.
In addition to that venue, there are also a lot of great performances held at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade from April October.
One of their more popular events is the Boston Pops Independence Day Concert on July 4th, but there are also several movies, music festivals, and other shows available at this location.
If youre interested in hearing some live music, keep an eye on the events calendar for the Berklee Performance Center.
This venue often provides several free concerts including symphonies, jazz ensembles, and more.

Although this wonderful family-friendly attraction isnt free on most days, it is much more affordable on Friday nights.
From 5 pm – 9 pm on Friday, tickets for the Boston Childrens Museum will only cost $1 per person.
Of course, if you have very young kids , its worth noting that their admission is always free.
This is a great place to take the family at the end of a long week, as there are a lot of hands-on exhibits and experiments for your children to enjoy.

Originally opened in 1925, the Wang Theatre is pretty much an institution of Boston. Going there, even just to see the outside of it, is cool enough. But for one of the more cultured things to do in Boston at night, wed highly recommend getting yourself a ticket to see one of the nightly performances at this storied venue.
The lobby interior is super stunning, complete with chandeliers and so much gilded gold-leafing that it almost feels like a palace. The theatre itself is beautiful. Basically, if youre at all interested in musicals you should experience this place. Get there early before the performance starts just to gawp at how cool the auditorium is. Definitely one of the cooler, more non-touristy things to do in Boston.

Walk Along The Charles River Esplanade
The Charles River Esplanade stretches along the southern bank of the Charles River, near Back Bay.
Its the perfect place for a jog, a picnic, a long walk, oron the Fourth of Julyto watch the fireworks from.
We opted to watch the fireworks in Cambridge rather than fight the crowds on the Esplanade, but theres no doubt that if youre willing to secure a place early, youll have a great time watching the Boston fireworks from the Charles River Esplanade.
Explore The Boston Common And Public Gardens
Boston Common is the oldest park in the country, and the starting point of the Freedom Trail.
Spread over 50 acres of lush greenery, the Common offers something for everyone at any given time.
For example, you can indulge in ice skating in the winter, and outdoor sports during the summer.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Common during the latter part of the year to be amazed at the fall foliage.
Alternatively, you can gaze at the awe-inspiring Garden of Flags on Memorial Day.
If you have kids, therell be a variety of activities including a summer splash pool, a seasonal carousel, and a tadpole playground.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is a very interesting place to visit! If you’re looking for things to do alone in Boston, this place is great.
The place is the presidential library of John F. Kennedy.
At the library, you find seven permanent exhibitions that are great to see!
For example, you find here the exhibit “The Oval Office”. This exhibit is about the American Civil Rights Movement while Kennedy was president. You find here objects that Kennedy had when he was in the Oval Office.
Another great exhibit here is “The Space Race”. This part of the museum is all about the U.S. space program. The most notable item you find here is the space capsule used by the first US citizen that went to space.
At the JFK Library, you also find events that are great to attend. These are often very interesting!
And at the same time, you can meet some new people, which is great!
