Older Kids Ebike Tours In The Vail Valley

This is a new activity that starts in Edwards. You can take an eBike tour with eBike rental & helmets included. We did this yesterday and opted for the dirt road route which was very challenging. What Colorado thinks of dirt roads are different than your average Texas dirt road. It was much more mountain biking than barely pedaling on flat surfaces. It was a really fun experience. Next time, we would opt for something easier and more paved! But any level or type of eBike tour is available, but kids need to be 15 to participate because the bikes are extremely heavy and they need to be able to fit an adult size eBike.

Alrighty, that was way more than 10, but you get the picture that summer in Vail Colorado and the surrounding area is great for families. And I didnt even mention the food.

Oh the food!

Most of the amazing restaurants will have outdoor patios which are just lovely this time of year.

Get to Vail and have some fun!

Enjoy A Colorado Dinner With A Twist

There are three private cabins on Beaver Creek Mountain, all with unique offerings.

Beanos Cabin serves a gourmet prix-fixe, five-course dinner. In the winter, a sleigh ride will take you to the cabin. In the summer, you can try your hand at horseback riding to earn your dinner. The hour-long guided ride up the mountain is beginner-friendly. If that isnt for you, you can ride up on a wagon pulled by a tractor.

Take a 15-minute sleigh ride from The Ritz-Carlton in Bachelor Gulch up to Zachs Cabin. The rustic-chic cabin has a cozy vibe thanks to the fireplaces. For dinner, you can choose from a-la-carte menu items that feature regional ingredients, like lamb and steak, and sip on award-winning wines while enjoying the sweeping mountain views.

If youve got the grandkids in tow, Allies Cabin is where you want to be. Their signature family dinners include a three-course meal for adults and a buffet set up just for kids. For dinner and a show, book one of the Thursday wine dinners, which pair food with wine followed by a fireworks show. To get to Allies Cabin, youll take an open-air sleigh pulled by a snowcat. Youll love the plush slippers that greet you when you arrive!

The Best Lunch In Beaver Creek

Talons Restaurant For the best view of the slopes minus the crowds of some of the other spots, head to Talons. My personal favorite spot for a break between runs, Talons is nestled at the base of the Redtail Bowl and Larkspur. The beer is cold, the classic rock is on point, and there are three chairlift options at your fingertips when youre ready for your next run.

A bloody Mary at Talons / Breaking for lunch at 8100 at the Park Hyatt

Coyote CafeHead here for the best value lunch on the mountain, like their $4.99 cup of pork green chili.

8100 Named for the elevation of Beaver Creek, head to 8100 or an alfresco slope-side lunch at the Park Hyatt. Dont miss the tomato soup and grilled cheese with smoked brisket.

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

Vail Beaver Creek summer events and things to do in Vail ...

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are absolutely gorgeous and something that cant be missed. While alpine gardens might not sound exciting to the younger members of the family, never fear! There is a huge playground, a childrens learning center, a childrens garden and a trail along the river that is full of treasures.

My kids tease me that a visit to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens is for them to watch mom take pictures of flowers. I cant help it. It is so pretty in every single direction!

When To Go To Beaver Creek

Singular Beaver Creek Vacation Rental

Beaver Creek Ski Resort opens for the season in mid-November and runs until the middle of April.

Naturally, the holidays are the busiest time on the mountain. While Christmas and New Years are pure magic, expect more crowds than usual But even then, Beaver Creek is less congested than most resorts in the area.

Immediately following the New Year, theres often an influx of visitors from South America there to kick off their summer holiday break. In the same tune, mid-March through early April can be quite busy with families traveling for their kids spring breaks.

A bluebird day at Beaver Creek

My advice: For your best shot at great snow and low-season crowds, aim for January and February, baring MLK Day and Presidents Day.

But theres a saying among the locals: Youll come here for the winters, but youll stay for the summers.

While we have yet to experience the Rocky Mountains in the summer, were already plotting a trip back. Picture low humidity, cool temperatures, and all the outdoor activities your little heart can desire.
