Hard Labor Creek State Park
Cottages and campsites are available for rental at this park that spans nearly 6,000 acres, about an hour east of Atlanta.
Black Rock Mountain State Park
Georgias highest-elevation state park is in the northeast part of the state, nearly 2 hours from town. Cottages and campsites are available to rent, including backcountry campsites to ensure your stargazing will be undisturbed.

Alas, being the foodie I am, I cant help but love a dinner date though. With all the tasty places to eat in Atlanta, at least if the date isnt good, the food will be! West Midtown also has a lot of top picks for nice dinners, like Bacchanalia and JCT Kitchen & Bar. I loved JCTs NYE meal one year.
