Go Out To Eat At Bb Kitchen & Grill

Cool and cheap things to do in N.E. Pennsylvania

“Excellent BBQ! We were visiting from Kansas City and have come to keep our expectations low when eating Q anywhere outside of KC or Texas. This place did not disappoint! The smoker is going just outside the entrance. Exceptional pulled pork, cheesesteak and turkey . Bennie knows how to smoke the meats and is a friendly host. You have to hunt for them – they are on the backside of an office building, but the restaurant is legit and the food amazing. Well worth the drive to this unusually located restaurant!”

    Enjoy A Meal At Geronimos

“Everything about Geronimo’s is pleasant! From the service to the food, we were very impressed. We came with our 10 month old baby and they seated us in a little nook near the windows which was perfect for us. We didn’t have to worry about getting in the way and our son had plenty of people to watch while we ate dinner. All of the staff were so accommodating–it was actually quite touching. The food was delicious as well. The quince butter that came with the complimentary bread was delightful. Our baby couldn’t get enough of it. The shrimp soup was hearty and warming. The taku taku was as tender as everyone said in previous reviews. They had a ceviche flute, which allowed us to try three different variations. Each one was beautiful and special in their own way. Everything we ate was super flavorful. We can’t wait to bring our friends and family here!”

Take The Bull By The Horns At Rose Bridge Farm & Sanctuary

“My Family and I visited Rose Bridge on a chilly Saturday in February. We punched the Farm’s address in google maps and drove right past it – it’s entrance is inconspicuous. When you enter there are various parking areas and signage telling you where to specifically park. We made reservations online ahead of time online for the Public Section of the baby rescued farm animal feeding and snuggles. This was $25 per person and could be paid online. When we arrived we had to fill out waivers, we were then lead into a barn where were could interact with goats and two pigs. Here you were able to bottle feed some of the goats. Next you were taken to an area to look at some other rescued animals – chickens, ducks, a camel and some other birds. Next we were able to feed horses and sheep through the fence. Having food in hand, the animals happily approached us, creating a very cool interactive experience. Lastly we were able to hold and feed tiny baby goats. This was the highlight for us. The goats were very friendly and happily held. There was also a small room with cats and an outdoor pen for a few baby cows. Rose Bridge provides a beautiful Sanctuary for rescued farm animals and an amazing hands on experience for the public.”

Its decent food, nothing noteworthy or overly compelling. Drinks were okay. Frozen margaritas seemed pre-made, nothing special. Also, whether you get chips and salsa seems random. Some customers just got them and when I noticed, I had to ask for mine. The server got them for me with no problem, I just wondered why I had to ask. They have a good happy hour with a couple dollars off drinks. Honestly, if Id had to pay more for that canned margarita I wouldve been upset.

    The History Of Ambler Pa

The towns first road, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, was built in 1730. It started at Harmers Mill and went to what is now called Bethlehem Pike. In 1739 a road called Butler Pike was created to go through town, also known as the Village of Wissahickon. It slowly grew to include an inn, a tannery, and several mills including flour, timber, paper, and cloth that were all powered by the creek. The mills were in continuous operation until the late 1800s when steam-powered technology rendered them obsolete.

The town continued to grow with the addition of Wissahickon Station on the North Pennsylvania Railroad line, which was the site of a horrific train crash in 1856. A local Quaker, Mary Johnson Ambler, walked two miles to the site while carrying medical supplies to help with rescue efforts. She welcomed injured people into her home and used it as a makeshift hospital. In return for her generosity, the station was renamed Ambler, soon followed by the post office and, in 1888 the town name was formally incorporated as well.
