The easiest way to get to Naples, Florida is to land at Fort Myers International Airport. There are usually direct flights into Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, a 45-minute drive from Naples Fl. Although FortyMyers airport is my first choice, we will scour the internet looking for the best flight deals. It may be worth even flying into Fort Lauderdale or Miami airport.
For flights, I like to use or Skyscanner to find the best deals on flights. These search engines compare millions of options from airlines and travel agents.

There are more things to do in Naples this weekend than eat. But really, who doesnt enjoy eating on their Florida staycation?! There are outdoor adventures, historic locations, arts, culture, and shopping galore.
Outdoor Activities in Naples
As the happiest and healthiest city in the U.S. there are countless things to do in Naples this weekend for the outdoor-enthusiast. Yoga is never more grounding than on the beach, but the beautiful shoreline can be enjoyed biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and walking.
We chose a relaxing catamaran trip with Sweet Liberty, the largest Sailing Catamaran in Southwest Florida. Dolphins greeted us as we voyaged out to our beautiful shelling location and we brought home some of the most beautiful shells weve ever plucked from the sand.
It was the perfect addition to make our Florida staycation special.
Vacation Well in Paradise
Of course, relaxing on the shoreline is always a top choice of mine and Im happy to take in the sound of the ocean waves for hours. To me, its the quintessential vacation. But if youre like my husband, there is always more to explore. Naples Pier, a landmark of Naples for over 100 years, makes for great dolphin watching, sunset viewing, and fishing! In fact, Naples has a blanket fishing license for the pier, so if youve got a rod, you can cast a line!

Bayfront Inn 5th Avenue is an economical choice situated on the bay in the heart of Naples which is only a 3-minute walk from Tin City and a couple of blocks from the amazing stretch of street in Old Naples full of shops and restaurants known as 5Th Avenue South. It was perfect for our little getaway and offered great views and plenty of room. The Inn also has free parking and is within a 5-minute drive to Naples Beach.

Conservancy Of Southwest Florida
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Southwest Florida’s unique natural environment and quality of life. Established in 1964 by a group of concerned citizens, the Conservancy focuses on the protection of land, water, and wildlife that is endemic to the Southwest Florida area, and they are involved in environmental policy, science, education, and wildlife rehabilitation.

Take A Stroll On The Gordon River Greenway
In the heart of Naples, a 2-mile-long boardwalk and trail through wetlands connects several natural spots. The free Gordon River Greenway opened in fall 2014. Park at 1590 Goodlette-Frank Road in the joint parking lot between Naples Zoo and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
The trail is designed for walkers and bicyclists and has wildlife viewing stations, benches, educational signs and restrooms. You also can launch kayaks here.
Take A Boat Ride To Keewaydin Island
Many people don’t know that Florida has more barrier islands than any other state. Keewaydin Island is one of the most popular islands, but you can only get there by boat. Hemingway Shuttle is an easy way to get there.
Though there are usually local vendors with food and drinks for sale, you can also pack and bring your own cooler to be safe. Note: there are no restrooms on Keewaydin Island.
Though Keewaydin Island is technically in Marco Island, it’s only a 15 -20 minutes drive to get to the launch point of this trip, so you really should try to do it if you staying in Naples.
