Enjoy a round at Cafe Benelux in Milwaukee, known for its Belgian brews and homemade dishes, including pull-apart cheese bread and shrimp mac & cheese. If you start the evening festivities in La Crosse, grab a round of drinks with your friends at Bodega Brew Pub. While its tough choosing between the more than 400 bottled beers and drafts, every choice is a solid one. And while youre there, order the classic hot pastrami sandwich, which pairs nicely with any brew.

Taste classic Irish drinks and fare at the oldest operating tavern in WisconsinThe Monarch Public House. Located in Fountain City, the Irish-themed tavern features a restaurant, a brewery and a bar. Choose between locally-crafted porters and ales, and of course, Guinness. The food menu features a variety of Irish favorites, including shepherd’s pie, and all-American dishes, like pizza.

Sports are better surrounded by friends and fans, and if you cant make it to a game, a sports bar is the next best thing. Eau Claire Brewery Hoping

A Wintermission to Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Wisconsin is known for beer so an Eau Claire brewery tour is a must. Start at the Lazy Monk Brewery, a brewery that has tons of classic Bavarian and European charm to it. Note, its cash-only.

Then, walk a block down to visit the Brewing Projekt, which hands-down has some of the most unique beers I have ever tasted. Youll find tons of Milkshake IPAs to sample Their tasting room is more bare-bones, but the beer Is truly original.

If you still have steam, head to K-Point on the south side of town.

Back In Time At The Chippewa Valley Museum

Wisconsin’s Chippewa Valley has been center stage for so much history. First home to the Ojibwe Native Americans, then to German, Scandinavian, and even Hmong immigrants, the Chippewa Valley and its cultures and heritages have helped shape the face of Eau Claire today.

There’s no better place to travel through Eau Claire’s history than at the Chippewa Valley Museum. The storytelling begins in the middle of the 17th century, when the Chippewa Valley was first inhabited by Europeans. It goes on to talk about typical farm life, the influx of new immigrants, the folk music, and the Wisconsin experience today. You can even visit a 1950s ice-cream parlor within the museum.

The museum is in Carson Park, so there is plenty to do nearby to fill an afternoon, or even an entire day. You can find it on a 134-acre peninsula that sticks out right into Half Moon Lake.
