We were fortunate. During our visit to Syracuse, there wasnt a cloud in the sky and the temperature was a balmy 85 degrees. But thats not usually the case. Whether the weathers good, bad or undetermined in Syracuse, NY, make plans to check out the fun things to do at Destiny USA.
Staying At The Doubletree By Hilton In Syracuse
We stayed in one of the massive hotel suites with a dining table, sleeper sofa and rustic chic sliding barn doors separating the living space from the bedroom. The bathroom was large and the lavender-scented Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries were an unexpected touch of luxury.

I love a good hotel lobby the Doubletree has a great one. Its divided into different spaces theres a fireplace perfect for enjoying a cocktail from the lobby bar. Or you can gather in front of the large screen tv. During our visit, things got pretty heated between Red Sox and Yankees fans watching a game! The Doubletree has an outdoor pool with luxe cabana seating and an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness center.

Seasons Tavern, the hotel restaurant, is located in the lobby too. Staffed by friendly servers, the restaurant features a casual, comfort food menu. We paired the buffalo chicken nacho appetizer with a beef brisket prepared with Dinosaurs legendary barbecue sauce. The brisket was accompanied by Syracuse salt potatoes. Havent had them? Youre missing out theyre boiled baby potatoes swimming in salted butter. Heart-stopping, but delicious.

Green Lakes State Park
Ive been to a lot of state parks in New York, and few have impressed me as much with their beautiful natural scenery as Green Lakes State Park.
Green Lakes State Park is located a short distance east of downtown Syracuse and is home to two of the most beautiful and rarest lakes in the state. This 2,000-acre park features miles of hiking trails and many places to explore. However, the parks highlights are its two lakes.
These lakes are meromictic lakes. This means that the lakes have layers that do not ever mix. This creates a lake that preserves things incredibly well at the bottom and has a very bluish-green hue in the top layer that is nearly crystal clear.
A great walking and jogging trail loops around the lakes.

Day : The Wild Animal Park A Bit Of Oz Green Lake State Park And Destiny Usa
With weekend getaways I always try to pack in a lot of activities. There are so many things to do in Syracuse and we had a big day planned. We even added some surprise stops in along the way.
Our first stop was The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango, New York. It is about a 30 minute drive from downtown Syracuse and is a fun place to visit for families. We arrived at opening and I am glad we did, there was a line forming to enter and when we left a few hours later it was busy.
When you purchase tickets you have the option to add-on bounce house passes as well as purchase feed for the animals. We added the bounce house passes and food for the giraffe feeding. The other food we purchased inside the park.
As you enter there are places to feed the goats, but we quickly walked passed it to start with the giraffe feedings. I am so happy we did. We were the only family on the platform feeding them. This made it so much easier and made for great pictures!
After the giraffes we followed the path around the park and visited the other animals and spend some time in the bounce house area. Overall we spent about 2 hours exploring.
At this point we were ready for lunch. We picked up a picnic from the local grocery store and then made our way to Green Lake State Park.
How Breath Helps Reduce Stress And Anxiety
Did you know that breathing techniques can quickly help you to release stress and lower your anxiety?
Breathing techniques improve circulation and blood flow to the brain, and activate our parasympathetic nervous system, which means that our brain gets the message to relax. For example, doing the alternate breathing activates the left and right hemispheres of the brain. When balance is created between the two hemispheres, we feel less stressed and anxious, and more relaxed.
In this free workshop you will already learn a technique that you can practice daily to feel calm, centered and stress-free!
