Helicopter Tour Of The City

Yes, this is one of the very real things you can do in NYC at night.

Sadly, its also incredibly expensive. But if you can afford this once in a lifetime NYC experience, do it!

Helicopters leave from Linden, NJ, and spend half an hour flying over as many iconic NYC landmarks as possible.

OMG, the stunning views of NYC youll get to experience from a helicopter are truly phenomenal. Seriously jaw-dropping.

This is by far one of the most extraordinary and fun things to do in NYC at night. You can also go during the day, but I definitely recommend evening over the day because of how amazing the city looks when its all lit up at night.

Oh, and in case youve only seen helicopters in the movies or on TV like I had: dont worry, the helicopter is not open on the sides you definitely wont fall out!

So, book your tickets now and prepare for the trip of a life time!

Address: Linden Airport in New Jersey

Hours: Usually Friday through Monday, departing every 30-minutes between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

Price: Around $250 per person.

How to Get There: Head to Penn Station and take a Northeast Corridor/Trenton Train to Linden and walk from there.

Watch A Broadway Show

Things to do in New York With Kids This Weekend (With images)

As a New York-based actor, this will always be my absolute favorite regardless of the weather or season. Seeing a Broadway performance is one of the most famous things to do in New York City at night, and its not to be missed.

If youre not sure what show to watch, look at the Playbill weekly Broadway show schedule to see what performances are taking place while youre in town.

Then stop by the TKTS Booth! You can purchase Broadway and Off-Broadway tickets for 30-50% less than you would pay at the box office. The organization is run by the respected Theatre Development Fund. You can find the Booth in Times Square under the big red stairs.

I also have a whole guide on how to buy Broadway tickets and tips for seeing a show if youre interested in learning more before you go!

Fun Things To Do In Nyc At Night Bars

Shocking to exactly no one is the fact that New York is home to a vibrant nightlife scene that is filled with some of the most famous bars in the entire world.

So, if you want to get your drinky drank on then this is a great place to do so. Just be prepared to spend a significant amount of money since most bars in the city dont serve drinks that cost less than $15 each.

Yup, thats basically what the price of eternal greatness costs.

What Is The Best Way To Get To New York City

New York City is serviced by three international airports. John F. Kennedy International Airport , LaGuardia Airport , and Newark Liberty International Airport . If you have the option I would recommend flying into JFK or LGA as EWR is in New Jersey and will take more work and time to get into the Big Apple.

JFK is in Queens and has the Airtrain which will connect you to the MTA system for $5. Once there you can easily navigate your way to where you need to go into the city.

LGA is the smallest of the airports but the closet to Manhattan. The easiest and cheapest way into NYC from LGA is via the public bus which can connect you to the subway. You can also use the private bus companies for about $15 a person and a taxi for around $40.

If you arriving into EWR you can take the Airtrain Newark to the Newark Airport Rail station and hop on the NJ Transit train to New York Penn Station.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a pretty sustainable park close to the start of the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn. Hanging out in the park for a few hours and taking in the nighttime views of Manhattan is a fun and laid-back thing to do during the evening.

You can bring a blanket, drinks, and snacks and watch the twinkling lights across the water. In August, the park also hosts outdoor movies after dark which are well worth checking out.
