Squire Boone Caverns & Village
Discovered in 1790 by Squire Boone and his brother Daniel, Squire Boone Caverns and Village pay homage to their discovery. A new passageway will open in 2017. Multiple activity options have sprung up around the caverns, with a pioneer village, cavern tours and more. While at the pioneer village, you can watch candlemaking demonstrations and make your own candle, then grab a sweet treat at the villages candy factory. The sluice is where you can mine for fools gold and other gemstones, then head over to Boones Mill, a working grist mill from the 1800s! You can even pick up a bag of cornmeal or pancake mix made from the grain of the mill.
Dubois County Museum Southern Indiana
The Dubois County Museum is a wonderful attraction which focuses on the areas heritage and history. The non-profit museum was established in 1999 and has an array of exhibits and artifacts which make it interesting for visitors of all ages. There are over 41,000 items on display in the 50,000 square foot exhibition space. Additional aspects are the 17-room interactive exhibit reminiscent of Main Street in the 1890s, several community murals, a huge model train display, a wild game safari display, and a two pen log house which was built in 1885. Youll be able to learn so much about Dubois Countys history and heritage through the exhibitions which tell stories that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Tippecanoe River State Park
The Tippecanoe River State Park offers hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, horseback riding trails and reservable campsites. The picturesque Tippecanoe river is the main attraction at this state park, which is popular for canoeing and kayaking. Enjoy the rugged cliffs and canyons of Clifty Falls State Park along with the parks four major waterfalls on this 4-mile hiking challenge. Hike part of the path of the old railroad that was once planned to cut through the park and see the 600-foot-long tunnel that was excavated through shale and limestone. See stonework completed by the C.C.C. on this 2-3 hour hike. Stop by the Nature Center first to pick up your map, and photograph seven specific waypoints along your journey. Show these photos to the nature center staff after completing the hike to receive your Four Falls Challenge sticker. Stop by the Nature Center or Clifty Inn front desk to pick up your map. Youll feel as if youre miles away from the city as you zip through the woods at Eagle Creek Park on Indianapolis northwest side. Go Ape! Treetop Adventures opened its first course in the Midwest in 2012. The course includes five zip lines plus numerous rope ladders with 39 crossings, including challenges called Log Balance, Flying Carpet, and Tic Tac Toe. Do your best ape-man call as you try out the two Tarzan swings, which take you into a net wall. The course is split into five sections. As you advance from one to the next, youll go higher into the forest canopy, sometimes swinging as high as 50 feet above the ground. Plan on two to three hours for your Go Ape! adventure. Turkey Run State Parks Ladders Trail was voted the best hiking trail in Indiana in 2019. The trail is a part of the 5-Mile Challenge. The rugged hike covers 5.56 miles, including a ladder and ~1,500 human-made steps. The trail visits the Coal Mine, the Narrows Covered Bridge, Lusk Home, the Punch Bowl, Camels Back, 140 steps, Boulder Canyon, Falls Canyon, and many stream crossings, making the approximately six-mile hike very worthwhile. Parts of the trail require hikers to travel along as well as in the stream, so hikers should dress appropriately! Hiking boots and walking sticks or trekking poles are suggested.
