About 20 minutes outside of New Braunfels, you will find the Natural Bridge Caverns. Explored and opened in the 1960s, these caverns have become one of the most visited attractions in Texas, and visiting is one of the most fun things to do in New Braunfels.

Go Tubing Down The Comal River
The Comal River is one of the top attractions in New Braunfels. People travel from all over the country to float along the river in large rubber hoops! The Comal river stretches through the city, eventually merging into the Guadalupe River.
Choose to float down the river in a rented hoop, canoe, or paddleboat, or bring your own. It takes about 2.5 hours to float down the whole river, and you can rent equipment from Texas Tubes or Comal Tubes at affordable prices.

New Braunfels Conservation Society
The New Braunfels Conservation Society is a 3.5-acre complex dedicated to preserving the unique history and way of life of the early settlers to the area. Eighteen historic buildings, including a bed and breakfast, saloon, schoolhouse, barber shop, and music studio, tell the story of life in New Braunfels since its founding in 1845.
Tours are offered Tuesday through Friday from 9:30am 11:30 am and from 1:00pm- 2:30pm. Weekend tours are available from 1:00pm -2:30pm. The complex can also be rented out for weddings, parties, or retreats by contacting the Conservation Society office.

Visit The Museum Of Texas Handmade Furniture In Heritage Village
History nerds should definitely visit the often forgotten Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture located inside the Breustedt-Dillen Home in New Braunfels. The museum is also a favorite with woodworkers.
Breustedt-Dillen Home is a historic home located in the Heritage Village area of New Braunfels. It was built in 1858 in the Fachwerkhaus style of architecture prevalent in Germany. The house itself is very interesting. Several other historic buildings are also moved here.
The museum houses over 70 pieces of Texas Biedermeier Furniture created in the later half of the 19th century. The pieces were created by the original German settlers of New Braunfels. The collection includes cabinets, wardrobes, secretary, tables, rocking chair, stoneware, and handmade quilts.
Visitors can see the collection on a guided tour. The docents are very knowledgeable and friendly. At the museum, you can not only see the handcrafted furniture but also understand early furniture making techniques brought over from Germany.
The guides also share interesting insights in the pioneers life in early Texas and early New Braunfels history. The display is small but interesting and takes about an hour to see.
