    Hyde Perk Coffee House

    Boise With Kids in 2020

This adorable coffee shop in Hyde Park was a life saver during those early mornings when my son was having trouble adjusting to the time change. Hyde Perk is family owned, and its clear the second you walk in that theyre an integral part of the community. The coffee is amazing and they offer a selection of locally made food like freshly made Gurus donuts. One of the best things about this place is the amazing kids section in the back of the cafe. It had a pint-sized table, 3 chalk boards with unlimited chalk and blocks. They also offer live music periodically and had a childrens book reading from a local offer when we were there.

    Kathryn Albertson Bike Park

A great place for kids, the Kathryn Albertson Bike Park near the military reserve park is an awesome thing to do in Boise with kids who crave physical adventure. Built in late 2019, the park features stunt ramps, hills, and jumps for all levels of expertise, from beginner to professional. In fact, the last time we were there I saw a 3-year-old boy speeding his way through the smaller of the 3 stunt courses on his pedal-less bike! Granted, his dad said he was a pro for his age and had a tiny motorcycle at home, it was still pretty impressive. Point being, this place is for kids of any age. Perfect for the adventure-loving family.

    8. 2nd Avenue Pizza

Not only the best pizza in Sandpoint but probably some of the best pizza Ive ever had! These pizzas are piled high with cheese and toppings, which make it a staple for our family to enjoy whenever we are in town. Known for its quality, its usually a long wait for your pizza so we tend to order it for take-out vs. eating in the restaurant. But trust me, its worth the wait!

    9. Eichardts

Located next to the McDuffs Beer Hall, youll think you are walking into a dive bar when you walk in. Instead, you will find a fabulous food menu with affordable pricing, just in a dive-bar setting. We eat at Eichardts often and I highly recommend eating there when visiting Sandpoint.

The only downside is that while Eichardts allows children, it doesnt have an actual kids menu. They will do half-portions, which works for us, but the fact they dont have a dedicated kids menu is worth mentioning.

    10. Serv-a-Burger

While we normally dont eat fast food there is still something to be said about the convenience and affordability of a quick burger. If you are looking for fast, delicious, cheap eats in Sandpoint, look no further than the local Serv-a-Burger!

    Hyde Park Historic District

Located just a bit north of downtown in the North End, Hyde Park is a charming and historic neighborhood. Starting in the early 20th century, Hyde Park served as Boises first suburban shopping area in order to fill the need of the citys growing population and it had everything from milliner shops to lumber yards as well as a streetcar service that connected it to downtown and the nearby suburbs. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and today, it is a bustling, upmarket neighborhood with a number of great eateries, trendy bars, and interesting specialty shops.
