Sea Life Orlando Aquarium
Catch a unique view in the 360-degree tunnel
This is hands-down one of the best aquariums that I have ever experienced. The exhibits are beautiful and they have a wide variety of aquatic life to check out. I was surprised to find such an excellent facility within the shops and attractions of International Drive.
SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is a great place to beat the heat with your family. The aquarium has child-height viewing and interactive exhibits for the entire family. Everyone will love going through the 360-degree tunnel, where you can see sharks swimming above, below, and all around you.
Pro Tip: The behind-the-scenes tour only costs $10 and is well worth the money. You can see their animal health facilities, meet new and young fish that are too small to go into the larger tanks, and view their largest aquarium from above.
Take A Boat Ride On Lake Eola
Lake Eola is Orlandos premier park, and in it youll find its claim to fame, the beautiful Lake Eola.
Surrounded by about a mile long sidewalk and a peaceful view of Orlandos skyline, Lake Eola offers the chance to take a romantic stroll together or rent a swan boat and hit the water one of the best things to do in Orlando for adults!
Swan boats can be rented started in late morning to the evening, and they are first-come, first-served, so it can be a casual romantic thing to do in Orlando if youre in the area.
Youll get to paddle up close to the fountain, share the water with the actual swans floating around, and argue over who is doing more of the paddling work or not.
Maybe one for a first date when youre both wanting to impress!

You may think of Orlando as simply a place where theres a lot of amusement parks and to be fair, there are a lot!! But remember that Orlando is an actual real life city and people live normal lives here that dont involve giant Mice and pretend castles. And where there are peopl theres culture, Culture! One of the best places to go to soak up a bit of this is the Orlando Museum of Art, of course.
Founded in 1924 its got more than 2,400 pieces on display, from the ancient Americas all the way to African art. Or Swim With A Manatee In Crystal River
If you are like us and want to swim with a manatee in Florida Crystal Springs is a pretty safe bet.
Crystal River is the only place in Florida where you can actually have the chance to swim with a manatee year round.
You need to go on a tour to access the manatees in Crystal Springs. Tours of Crystal River include snorkels, wet suit, and bottles of water. Snorkelling makes you very thirsty and only water quiches that thirst trust me.
Swimming with manatees in Florida is a bucket list experience I couldnt recommend more!

Go Kayaking In Blue Springs State Park
This is one of our favourite adventurous things to do in Orlando. Taking a trip to Blue Springs State Park is a great way to go if you really want to soak up some of the magical nature thats in easy reach of the city. Blue Springs State Park is where you can see hundreds of manatees frolicking around in the clear waters. Literally so beautiful.
Its easy to spot the manatees here, who flock here for the warm water its their winter home, in fact, and makes for the largest manatee population in Florida. The water is so clear that you can see them swimming around with their pups, no obstructions. The best way to see them is kayaking gently around. Bonus: you can also see cute otters, wading birds, alligators and osprey. Sometimes even wild hogs.

Day 1 Outdoors Orlando
Start your time in Orlando the way nature intended and get up for a sunrise paddleboard experience at Lake Fairview. This is a beautiful way to start your day, but if youre a little tired afterwards youll probably want some coffee and lets face it, youll be hungry too. Dont worry though: theres Grills Lakeside Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar. You pick up breakfast right at the waters edge.
Then its time to head further out of town to visit the ever-famous Everglades at Shingle Creek. Spend your time airboating around listening to a knowledgeable local guide, wholl tell you all about what youre seeing, then its a matter of getting yourself over to Harry P. Leu Gardens. This is just a 35 minute drive back into the centre of Orlando.
With the Leu House Museum at the heat of the gardens themselves, spend time wandering the tropical plants of the gardens . After that, youll probably be wanting something like dinner. Drive around 20 minutes for an easy slice of Italian fare at Mias Italian Kitchen before embarking on a fun night at nightlife staple, Howl at the Moon.

Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens
Meet my friend Rafiki at the giraffe feeding station
The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens is a historic staple in Orlando. It originally opened in 1923 but moved to its current location in 1975 .
The zoo features a petting zoo where guests can feed and pet barnyard animals, extensive boardwalks for excellent animal viewing, and beautiful butterfly gardens throughout the grounds. Animal encounters, such as feeding a giraffe or meeting a greater one-horned rhino, are available for an additional fee.
Local Tip: The zoo is not very large and food from the concession stand is candidly lackluster. So I recommend planning for a half-day visit in the morning and then heading to Downtown Sanford for lunch and exploring some of the other top things to do in Central Florida.
