Branch Brook Park In Newark
We had the chance to visit this park during the cherry blossom season. Who knew that right here in NJ, you can find a park that has more cherry blossoms that Washington D.C.. The park is large, beautiful, has many paths, a lake, a playground, and some amazing architecture around it. Worth a visit, especially in April. See photos and read about our visit here.

No matter where you are along the 18.5-mile Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, youll feel like you have the ultimate postcard-picture view of Manhattan.

George Woodruff Museum Of Indian Artifacts
Located in the Bridgeton Free Public Library this museum houses more then 30,000 pieces of Native American Relics. The admission is free. After I spoke to a wonderful lady there on the phone, she informed me that Wednesday afternoon is the best time to come, as there is some one there that is very knowledgeable and will be able to help and answer all the questions. Ever heard of the Jersey Devil? No? Well, it is basically NJs version of a haunted forest. There are many different versions, but it is said that the Jersey Devil is a hoofed bird-like creature that haunts the forest. A child turned devil after the mother proclaimed it the devil, after an especially hard labor. Great for a scary camping trip. The NJ Pine Barrens is also home to the Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer, containing some of the purest water in the world. Not really something youd expect to find in NJ.

Things To Do In Nj: Emlen Physick Estate
The Emlen Physick Estate educates school children and other interested guests on Victorian-age architecture, decorative arts, customs, and one Cape May family, the Physicks. The estate is outstanding, with its avant garde Stick Style architecture, uncommon projections such as bays, raised boards, and overlaying clapboarded walls, geometric designed decorations, and asymmetric forms and roof lines. These features make the house really stand out in the neighborhood.
Being in Cape May, which is known for its haunting legends, the estate provides a view and experience of the original haunted house. The house is haunted by a ghost of a Physick family member, who seems to know everything that goes on in the house.

To visit the museum is to enter the world of the Indians who inhabited the lower Delaware Valley. At the end of the last Ice Age, the Paleo Indians were the first primitive people to penetrate this region. Many subsequent Indian cultures followed in their wake, leaving physical evidence of their passing in the earths archives. This salvaged evidence is exhibited in the form of stone and bone artifacts, pottery and native crafts. New Jersey State Museum Trenton
This is a great time to visit the state’s museum, as local artists’ works are on display. The “New Jersey Arts Annual: Reemergence” highlights the work of visual artists and craftspeople from around the state. This years exhibition shows artists from the state taking steps to “reemerge into an altered landscape” following the pandemic. There are 127 works by 95 artists in the exhibit. Here is the complete list of artists included.
The museum also features its “Jaw Dropping World of Sharks” display through January 2023. The exhibition dispels myths and misunderstandings about sharks through fossil records and other specimens and artifacts. If you really love sharks, the museum holds a free sharks lecture on the second Saturday of each month at 2 p.m.
The museum also houses 12,000 other works of art, a collection of more than 2 million prehistoric and historic specimens, 13,000 artifacts that document the states history and a Civil War flags gallery showcasing the flags carried by New Jersey soldiers during the war, among other exhibits. There is a fee for the on-site planetarium, but admission to the museum is free.

Trailside Nature and Science Center is Union Countys Environmental Educational Center. It is built on a preserve of woodlands, fields, lakes, streams and hiking trails, making it a wonderful tourist destination. Walking, biking and hiking on the centers natural surroundings allows for the most memorable moments. Why you should go: Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial is a battleship museum in Camden, New Jersey.
It is one of the most decorated battleships in United States Navy history.
She is also notable for being one of the few remaining examples of a US battleship that participated in World War II.
Things to do: The museum houses artifacts from World War II and Vietnam War veterans who served on board Battleship New Jersey , as well as movies and pictures from both wars.
It also features exhibits about life on board a battleship during both wars these include a recreation of a sailors bunkroom.
Visitors can tour the ship and learn about its history.
There are also several special events and activities throughout the year.
Cape May County Park And Zoo
This child-friendly zoo has all sorts of animals, from African lions to zebras. In all, there are more than 550 animals representing more than 250 species. The 200-acre park has trails, lots of greenery and enclosures with lions, snow leopards and bears. During the summer it offers zoo yoga classes at no cost, but donations are accepted. Admission is free, and the zoo is open seven days a week.
