The State Library Of Victoria
TheState Library of Victoria heritage building was established in 1854 and today, their collection numbers more than two million books. But youre really here for the building. Its epicentre, the octagonal La Trobe Reading Room, was completed in 1913 when its dome was the largest of its kind in the world. In all cop movies and tv shows set in Florida, theres bound to be a chase scene involving an airboat eventually. These glide over Florida waters like a dragonfly, and vary in size from single or two-seaters to 50-seater cruisers.

Astronaut Memorial Planetarium And Observatory
When you think of the Space Coast, you might think of the Kennedy Space Center and shuttle launches. So of course, one of the best things to do in Melbourne is to go stargazing in Florida!
As a caveat, this destination is not in Melbourne. Its just next door in the small town of Cocoa , youâll find the Astronaut Memorial Planetarium and Observatory.
The Brevard Astronomical Society holds free and open viewings to the public. On weekend nights, you can go watch a planetarium star show! Afterward, climb up to the rooftop observatory to see the stars in real life.
While you can definitely see the stars with the naked eye, you can also look through one of the largest telescopes in Florida! You can crisply see things like Venus and Mars. Look out for the Orion Nebula, a newly forming cluster of stars.
